OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

The plan is clearly "let it rip and hope for the best." And we may end up avoiding the worst outcomes, but "hope" is never a very good strategy. We might as well just kept full capacity. Cutting capacity in half is just theater. It makes little difference.

Yeah, 10k vs 20k is still a motherfucker of a superspreader event

This is why I can both love my extended family and give zero fucks about what they think about cancelled Christmas get together plans.

My aunt and uncle, who I actually like a lot, were some of the limited amount of family invited to my wedding a few years ago, etc...have been diagnosed with rona and they appear to have caught it in Newmarket, right before Christmas

...at the bar....

just a night out of drinking at the bar. Their whole house has it now. Both double vaxxed fwiw.

Facebook has been sort of an interesting thing to follow this Christmas.

Probably shouldn't say this but... I know someone who knows the Keefe family quite well. Sheldon was sort of a soft anti covider and felt it was overblown and whatnot. Nothing extreme; just felt we should move on. Apparently his recent covid experience was a nightmare and he may or may not have had a change of heart. The end. Carry on.

Also...10k in a building to watch the raptors tonight during record cases that are about to cause a school shutdown is peak Ford, no?
Personally I don’t think that at this time any spectators should be allowed at large sporting events, but
just because you can do something doesn’t mean you have to. People need to take some responsibility for their own actions.

In a province of 15 million, you would be able to find 10K to enter a bleach drinking competition. This is why government intervention is so necessary. If you think about human intelligence on a bell curve, the lowest 1% of us in Ontario is 150,000 people (completely unrelated, that's also roughly the population of Barrie). You're never going to struggle to find > .1% of your populace willing to do something utterly stupid. We're just unfortunate in that those .1% can disproportionately effect the rest of us right now. This is why rules and mandates are entirely necessary.

It's really sad that not believing in science has become a political thing. All because they despise "libs." Purely a result of their incredible rage. The science isn't even that complicated. We all learned about it in school! But many libs believe it so it must be bad.

Or maybe the beleafer's are just really dumb and don't understand vaccines and their incredible obvious safety profile. But he's too narcissistic to be educated so it's a lost cause.
