I don't think 5-11s are approved yet in the UK so that's hurting things over there. But they have a huge vax rate where it counts (nearly 100% in 50 or 60+). That's the group that will provide the most benefit vs severe disease and you can clearly see it there.
 
It's not, but it's a great example of literally every conversation Joe has regarding covid with someone who actually knows what they're talking about.

Interesting thread, my brother always says this re: endemics. Rt has to be consistently around 1 for it to be an endemic in most definitions. How is that possible with covid?

Dad's two aunts are around 80-90. Someone in their circle had cold symptoms but tested negative on the rapid test so they still got together (what did I say about us needing communication on how to use these tests?). They all caught it shortly after.

So the 80-90 year olds caught it and are doing fine so far. They were recently boosted so that prolly helps. Good news.
