OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

Off topic but there are a lot of fascinating potential therapeutics on the way this year. One product in particular made my Synairgen will be releasing phase 3 trial data soon and nerds are very optimistic. It's an inhaled antiviral treatment for hospitalized patients using different mechanisms than the others (paxlovid, etc.) out there. So theoretically if successful this one could be used in a drug cocktail to improve effectiveness.

Therapeutics are the future. It's a giant race out there right now. Gonna be big money made for these corporations for years to come.

Not really sure what the solution is, but it... kinda sucks that a comedian/TV host is able to give what amounts to medical advice to 11 million people an episode.

I get what worm is saying. I feel a little bit bad for some of these people have been led astray by people they probably trust a lot.

And this is why there's some buzz right now on that particular product.

If @BeLeafer decides to show up I'd like to fire off this video that directly responds to the ivermectin video that he posted from a fella who educates nurses; a fine occupation but he doesn't quite have the molecular expertise needed to analyze these things. The guy in the following video has a phd in molecular biophysics and experience in biotechnology and drug discovery research. So already the credentials between the two folks don't really compare.

It's long and has actual science in it so you may not enjoy it but it is a proper retort to a video filled with aggressive misinformation.

0% chance a guy as low-intelligence as Beleafer will watch or understand this. Like trying to teach advanced calculus to a kindergarten class.

Kudos for the effort though.

I'm definitely hitching my hope wagon to therapeutics. And I think there's good reason to do so.

Yeah even if the vaccines never improve we'll eventually get there with therapeutics. Not sure how long it'll take to find the right cocktail and have the required supply but it's coming and there's a race to develop them right now because that's where the money will be longterm.

Everybody should watch that video it's nice to have facts lined up when the dummies are spouting off the crap they're coming up with... Not going to pretend to understand it all but I understand enough to know that Campbell made some big mistakes and I would love to see if he's man enough to get back on video and discuss that fact

If one doesn't want to watch the entire thing, start it at 1:02:40 and watch that stretch of Campbell trying to breakdown a study. You can clearly see Campbell is way out of his league and it's unfortunate because way more people watched his video than this retort. And from my understanding he hasn't responded to this video and continues to push his ivermectin stuff.

TLDR: Beleafer got wooed by a guy with glasses because he has a classy British accent and decided to not question him at all because it goes against the consensus medical opinion. And science is evil or something.

Thank god Bernie hates science.
