Toronto’s top doctor says that residents will likely have to remain at home and only venture outside “for the most essential of needs” for the next 12 weeks amid a surging number of cases of COVID-19 locally that has placed the city on an alarming trajectory.
Dr. Eileen de Villa made the comment on Wednesday as she issued sweeping new recommendations to help limit the spread of COVID-19., recommendations that Mayor John Tory says amount to “locking the city down as much as any municipal government possibly could.”
There is a surge cause we have finally tested a large sample of people and results are in
No surprise we have a spike . I bet a few million Canadians have already had it .... who hasnt had flu like symptoms this year from October to March
2 workers at the grocery store we use have tested positive. Great. Hope they are ok but now we're worried about the packaging.
To be fair all the other cold viruses and influenza itself didn't just pack up their bags and go away. 95% of the people we are testing now in the midst of an outbreak with upper respiratory symptoms are coming up negative for the virus.
My buddy in OC finally got his test. Now has to wait 48 hrs -- they call if he tests +
If people are actually immune after having it then we need to start testing non severe cases. If i have it right now (doc says to assume i do) then after this is over i would gladly volunteer to run groceries and meds for the elderly since i wont be in harms way.
This is what's hit my family. Upper Respiratory non covid. It's been running rough shot through the area since new years. To be fair all the other cold viruses and influenza itself didn't just pack up their bags and go away. 95% of the people we are testing now in the midst of an outbreak with upper respiratory symptoms are coming up negative for the virus.
