OT: MLB Thread

Neither the bat flip (hundreds of players have done this) or the brawl happens if Texas doesn't collapse in the playoffs last year.

The flip and brawl are direct outcomes of Texes blowing an 0-2 lead in a 5 game series.

I don't understand the commentary here.

Flipping your bat is unsportsmanlike.

But crying that the guy who beat you in the playoffs hurt your feelings, and then trying to hurt him (both with pitches to hit him, and with a sucker punch) is the proper way to act.

To me the Rangers are just cry babies, complaining that Jose's bat flip when he hit the game winner hurt their feelings. And now they are sore losers trying to injure the guy who beat them.

How is this all about the bat flip, and not about the stupidness of their actions.

That is probably true but making out that a guy going at someone with a closing fist getting clocked is somehow a victim (which I have seen today) is silly.

The bat flipper had violence in heart when he went at Odor.

First of all Bautista was hardly an innocent party. He slid into second spikes first and he was intending to try and injure Odor. Secondly it was hardly a sucker punch. Odor shoved him hard first then punched him. Bautista should have known that Odor wanted to do more than just talk trash.

If Bautista wants to act like an asshat every time he successfully does what he's paid to do then whatever happens is on him and he should be prepared. He can't expect opponents to just sit back and put up with his BS.

That slide was no different than slides seen every year to break up double plays. Was it hard? yes. Was it spikes first? He actually kept his spikes down, but whatever.

Did he slide hard? Sure, but lets not ignore the fact that the guy wouldn't have even been on the bases if the Rangers didn't throw a 97 mph fastball at his ribs.

All of this because he flipped his bat after knocking them out of the playoffs... boo ****ing hoo... bunch of sore loser, crybaby bitches.

When you dislike an athlete you make up a narrative to improve your argument.

Another example is PK Subban.

Just saw the video. Great punch, too bad he didn't smack him a second time. Buddy got suspended (too long!), but whatshisjays the punching bag will never live that down. He was owned. lol

Those kinds of slides are no longer legal. You can't slide hard into 2nd base and you can't collide with the catcher at home plate. It's the pussified new rules designed to protect players from injuries.

And getting even for the bat flip isn't the same thing as crying about it. When someone cries like a bitch you tell them "You don't like it? Then do something about it."

Odor did something about it. Payback is a bitch, something that Bautista should have thought about before flipping his bat last fall.

Exactly the Jays would of done the exact same thing , every team would too. Joey bats is an arrogant dick , he knew payback was coming . Take the pitch , go to first base and end it . He slid like a madman instigating the altercation then got his bell rung , priceless.

Mr. steroids himself, Barry Bonds, thinks a bunch of white kids singing along to a BLACK rap group's lyrics is racist. Now instead of going after the rap group that came out with the song, Mr. PED thought it would be more suitable to attack the kids singing along to it. Now, the double standard with the N word is a bit too much PC crap here, and Bonds is a dumbass eitherway.

Best home run hitter of all time.

You just wish the Expos had a player as good as him.

Best "enhanced" home run hitter of all time.

There's a reason why the Giants basically dumped him right after he got the record and they made a ton of money off it.
