OT: MLB Thread

He was injured after he hit the record.

Hell his chance for 71 in September 2011 helped the American people forget what happened to them that month.

A very natural aging curve for sure. So many players see power spikes at the age of 35.

Well it makes a difference to the people who vote on who gets into the Hall of Fame. They take a dim view of cheaters, especially the type who were surly to the press during their career.

Payback is a biotch.

if they didn't test, then MLB didn't care and if MLB didn't care, why should I?

and admit it, you would not have cared one iota if he had been an Expo and led them to the post season,

The people who vote on the Hall of Fame aren't team owners but members of the media and those guys care about stuff like that even if team owners wish that it could be swept under a rug so as not to negatively affect their profits. Media types have to eat $hit from players like Bonds year in and year out. You don't think that they'll pay him back by screwing him over for the Hall of Fame? They can hardly wait to deny him the honour.

you dodged the second part

Unfortunately the kind of drugs that Expos players indulged in weren't performance enhancing. If anything it cost them a chance at the post-season.

Who knew that WeHave works for the Padres

http://www.si.com/mlb/2016/06/01/san-diego-padres-executive-ron-fowler-miserable-failures-comment

"San Diego Padres executive chairman Ron Fowler called the team “miserable failures” in a radio interview with Mighty 1090 AM on Wednesday."

...

“It’s been embarrassing. I don’t know how else to put it,” Fowler said. “Our performance on the road trip, 1–7, was pathetic."
So...pathetic failures then.

I should sue him for trademark infringement. Any of you guys with law degrees specialize in copyright or intellectual property law?

FFS, just bring back the Expos already. I flip the channel tonight to RDS and what do they have? The Nationals game with French commentary.

Then I switch to TVA, and what's there? Blue Jays in French.

the networks do not need the small market Expires to return

Bad ownership, a stadium in which it was not possible to make money and a non existent television deal. None of those factors would exist if they get another franchise. Any would-be owner would get vetted by MLB, a new baseball only downtown stadium would be a prerequisite and since the ownership would include a media conglomerate (likely Bell Media) the TV situation would also be taken care of.
