OT: Movies/TV Shows

almost always have a shitload of of dried pasta and a block of pecorino or parm on hand. then it's mix and match with whatever else i have around. usually garlic and i'm addicted to calabrian chilies. don't have too many rules and pretty sure most of you guys would balk at most of what i come up with. i'm okay with that.

Um it's good, very good but I think I lije OG havarti. For me jalapeño as a friend both takes away from the intended taste while also only being faintly jalrpeno
I’ve had some havarti with decent heat to it. I guess it depends on where you get it? It’s been years to be honest. Nice little cheese shop on the danforth had some fabulous stuff. Their welsh aged cheddar was delish.

Welsh is interesting. Never had it. Love nothing British aged heavily. Basically I want my cheese to be Helen Mirren and I'd fuck either

I'm firmly on Team Do Whatever The Fuck You Enjoy. One thing I hate about Italians is their food stubbornness. Yes the classics are classics for a reason but it's ok to experiment too. After all, breaking rules is sometimes the best part of cooking.

actually that Serious Eats website does a pretty good job of not really giving a shit about what is traditional. i'm sure some nonna somewhere would have a stroke if you told her to put miso and soy sauce in her mushroom risotto.

the only rule you need to follow is your nonna's recipe (or at least don't tell her about your trangression), unlike French food where you must follow a textbook.

That's not exclusive to Italy though.

My mom's side Nana made the best apple pie ( until it was decided ovens were no longer for her) and anyone else's nana was a fucking nazi who made shit pie
