OT: Movies/TV Shows

yeah,,, episode 3 should win an emmy.

That love story thrown in there was completely compelling and so touching. Extremely well done.

As per the Walking Dead,... my wife got into it and I watched a bit. Not as compelling. It's definitely more of a tv show. That's what I like about the last of us...is that it tweaks the game ever so slightly, to make it an episode for television, but that's what makes it a bit more interesting. Every episode is not told to wrap up with a bit of a cliff hanger. Just my opinion.
First episode was like 90 min, second 55 third 80. That kinda shows its difference.

the one thing for sure that it gets really right is the cool new completely viable explanation for how zombies can actually happen. that's golden.

but then again, that's it's one big departure from the game, and most people seem to love it because it's so much like the game.

That isn't a departure. It is the same. They just explain it better / more on the show.

The departure is not having spores (aka gas masks being required).

Episode 3 was quite different from the game.

But that was masterful.

The close up of the window at the end was a nice tribute to the game (the load screen thing).

Spoilers assholes
Joel is a sheriff now and wakes up in a hospital with nobody around. His son and wife are nowhere to be seen.

Note: I thought the walking dead was really good at the start so not an unfair comparison.

That is a spoiler imo.

now he is going to know that when frank is in the hole... Those two will marry. Now he knows when Bill gets shot that he doesn't die because no wedding yet, etc etc

I think Carl wins

Carl?

Why would a Simpsons character be the show. Spoilers motherfucker, spoilers
