OT: Movies/TV Shows

I could see enjoying Vanilla Sky if i hadnt seen the original, cause it’s a pretty original script….but it’s hard to take seriously if you watch it second….it’s just so Hollywoodified by comparison, it almost feels like a SNL sketch or something.

I could also see not liking the original if you saw Vanilla Sky first, cause it might feel like a cheap knock off…..but it’s low budget realism worked in its favor as a stand alone movie

so help me god if you defend Rocky 5

Both were great imo.

Penelope is perfection.

I can defend the first 3 Rocky's because Stallone once said that it was meant to be a trilogy. The first one (the only truly great, Oscar worthy Rocky movie) is about the underdog fighting for a chance at the title and coming close. The second one is where he finally beats the champ and the third one is about how he gets fat and happy with success, gets toppled from the throne and has to work to regain the crown.

Rocky's 4 through whatever iteration of the franchise we're now into is a simple case of milking a cow until it's dry then butchering it and selling it for the meat.

On second thought Rocky 5 is fantastic.

The Bear season 2 is very very good, and episode 6 was fantastic, with the most impressive guest stars ever and really really resignated with me. Just fantastic stuff

While we’re talking about all the “woke Hollywood” lunatics, I watched Jungle Book on Disney+ the other day and there was a warning before the movie that was essentially “ya this movie is super racist but it’s a classic so fuck you.”

just in case you wanted to know how woke Disney is.
