Why didn't he just be Bond. What a stupid decision. His Bond movie was one of the very best and was a big hit.
Matt Helm and Flint. Classics. Not really a Bond fan, I've only seen two or three of them in their entirety and they were with Moore.
I actually preferred the Dean Martin/James Coburn spoofs.
It's a shame that Tom hanks/Scorcesse Dean martin movie was never made. it was plannedI need to check that out, love me some Dean Martin…..
It also hurts he kept doing a goofy (But funny), drunk martin impression on SNLTIL that was a thing…..as good as Hanks is, I have a hard time picturing him pulling off Dean‘s god given charisma & quick wit. Hard to picture anyone doing it justice tbh.
Would have fucking loved to see Scorsese attempting to pull it all off tho, goddamn.
Preston cancels himself out though. Put the shovel down man.Proven. Even though twice as many posters said they don’t know him.
Cavill scores highly in "XBL" or "Expected Bond Leads"Re: The Great Cavill Debate of 23’
There’s actually a metric that would solve this pretty definitively imo, I just don’t know if it’s available to the public.
…but Q Score is used within the industry to measure the familiarity & popularity of celebs, etc.
I’m surprised you liked it. I thought I’d feel the same as you going into it - probably nothing too satisfying but enjoyable nonetheless - but it was kinda painful. I’d have to give it a 5/10 max, and that might be being too generous.Just watched The Flash…..kinda liked it a fair bit.
All sorts of issues with it, from the standard shit CGI in every superhero flick, to prob being 20+ minutes too long….the humour being aimed at an audience a fraction my age….the look of flash running being goofy as fuck.
but overall it was refreshing to watch a superhero flick with some actual stakes to it, and some real costs paid by the audience in the end.
Really liked Kara Zor-El, the flirtation with Red Son….obviously Batman…and surprisingly the actress who played the mom killed it, actually felt like a real mom, and successfully made you empathize with how big a loss that’d be.
Ezra Miller was a bit exhausting a times, (again gotta factor for the ‘comedy’ being aimed at a younger audience)….but it’s hard separating what we know about him, and not thinking about it a bit as you watch.
Thought the script was really damn good, so looked up who the screenwriter was. Christina Hodson…and it looks like she’s part of the writers room for James Gunn to map out the overarching story arc for the DC Universe. That’s pretty encouraging for the next era of DCU, imo.
Ben Affleck is kinda hilarious as Batman/Bruce cause I feel like his entire run was made up of flickers of the potential he had to kill it in the role, only for it to never quite catch……popped for the blue cowl & cape tho, that was dope to see.
Guy who directed this is also doing The Brave and The Bold reintroduction of a new cannon Batman to the DCU.
I’d give Flash a solid 6.8/10…enjoyed it, but will never watch it again.
The way superhero movies are, I kind of feel if you leave after seeing and don't wish you had those 3 hours of your life back, it's a winI’m surprised you liked it. I thought I’d feel the same as you going into it - probably nothing too satisfying but enjoyable nonetheless - but it was kinda painful. I’d have to give it a 5/10 max, and that might be being too generous.
No idea, never watched.
But I mean, he’s the fastest dude alive so if he decides to run, shouldn’t his takeoff be basically undetectable anyway? Like, he’s there one second, and a blur the next. What is this ridiculous leg kick garbage? There were so many dumb things, it took me straight out of the movie.
A minor, but hilarious one - caveman recluse Bruce has a full head of thick long locks when they initially meet him. And then he apparently takes a moment to go to the salon and get a haircut
with the future of the world on the line, and returns balding. This was the least of the silliness with it, but a sample how in like almost every scene I was like, this is so damn stupid.
Dumbest things. I told you, it was a minor bullshit thing, but I found it funny. I want to see that deleted scene, where Bruce says, “I can’t go out looking like this!” And the two Flashes are like “Zod is literally about to decimate the armed forces, and anyway you wear a cowl so nobody will even notice.” “I know, I know, but l’ll be back in an hour, two hours tops!” And then he gets back from the salon and is like, “For some reason I had a full head of hair when I kept it long, but when it’s short I don’t have any hair really. Should it look like this??”looked it up after, it’s better…but still wonky.
TV has a far better suit tho, imo.
He apparently did all kinds of research and training based on the biomechanics of the fastest animals on earth or some shit…& trained with Daoist monks in the mountains…
…still looked like shit tho. Was funny when he tried running without his powers tho and was still doing that style….that popped a chuckle.
I mean, Bruce shaves off a moustache while sleepwalking in The Dark Knight Returns…implying Batman was in control of his consciousness while he slept walk, knowing it was time to return to the suit..

….which shocks a now awake Bruce who thinks he’s making the decision to return…..when Batman had already made it for him.
Could be a goofball and worry about how silly it is, or read it for what it’s conveying.
that’s one of the dumbest things to get hung up on…it’s pretty clear it’s to imply he became a Howard Hughes type recluse, without the obligation of being Batman to hold him together.
movie magic like that between scenes is as old as the medium itself.
sorry they didn’t keep him looking like that throughout.![]()
