OT: Movies/TV Shows

I've got Boba as the worst personally.

The clone wars cartoon was pretty good and filled in a pretty useful gap in the overall story. Never watched the other Ahsoka cartoon.

the stinky Bridgers character bugs me. aside from him being basically as bad an actor as Sabine, his existence only makes sense if he went dark side, imo. Would have been an interesting arc to end the season

Ya - I’ve never seen any of the cartoons, have only half watched the prequels and sequels on cable, etc.

Original 3 I’ve seen. Rogue 1 was fantastic. Didn’t bother with solo.

I found absoka worse than boba fett. Although in hindsight maybe that is just because of the mid season mando arc.

solo ain't bad! no idea why nobody watched it.

the nerds all seem to love the casting. but yeah he's not good.

i can't believe they did nothing with Baylan all season except let him stare in the distance. and now he's dead.

I wonder...was there any IP where the cartoon version wasn't better than the live action version?

And not because of animated versus live (though maybe it helps because it's probably more visually compatible to see fantasy and sci fi stuff animated rather than VFXed), but I've always found storytelling/writing better in the animated stuff.

Some examples:

Transformers The Movie (animated 1985 version) - a million times better than any live action Transformers they ever did.

Batman and Justice League animated tv and movies - infinitely better than anything other than the Nolan movies (which is why they're a masterpiece).

I remember catching a few Star Wars cartoons back in the day (Clone Wars?) - actually interesting and fun, better than any other Star Wars stuff I've seen (admittedly very little).

Mr. Brooks, for me, is his best for no other reason than the fact that he plays against type and does it extremely well. Bull Durham never gets old and any time I see that Field of Dreams is on TV, I'll tune in at the end just to see if the last scene still makes me cry 30+ years and countless viewings later and it always does.

yeah tbh never seen 13 days, Open range, for the love of the game or Highwaymen. never heard anything about them to make me think they were worth it.

you know, I may have seen it now when i look it up. but that would mean it didn't make much of an impression.
