I know the book is considered an absolute masterpiece….so like some of the better shows of late, they at least have phenomenal source material to work off.
Also know some critics who saw ep 1 and have pretty good taste for the most part, and they seemed extremely bullish on it.
Def think it’s on the list of must watch, until it proves otherwise.

Considering when it was made (and it was made for a Western audiance by a TV studio), I think they did a pretty good job (especially Richard Chamberlain in the lead role).

Apparently he's wanted to make this movie for years. It'll be interesting to have 2 parts come out a month apart.
I think Yellowstone was another issue.

Interesting trailer. Looks kinda good, but I don't have much patience these days, not to mention for some 5-6 hour western drama.
You can tell Costner has been dying to take another crack at another feature that could get him back on top. Doubt it's in the cards, but will be keen to find out.

I remember the book being awesome when I read it as a kid. It has this huge ninja attack in it. Who doesn't like a huge ninja attack? the only other one of his I read was Tai-Pan which was good as well.
