You put some respect on the works of Tim AllenThere is nothing wrong with watching a good "bad" movie.
Not sure that applies in this case however.

Yeah, they had some lull's over the journey, but the finish was excellent and Foster was as good as anyone in the TD franchise, Reis a stud the whole wayThe Curse & True Detective both crushed their finales…
Found both extremely satisfying.
The acting the two leads showed in being horned-up over men was incredible.Jody Foster gave one of the best television performances in I don’t know how long….that was some Daniel Day Lewis level shit.
Kali Reiss seems destined to have a moment now too….imagine Marvel or DC pick her up for something significant before long.
Oh no no no.I like Jodie Foster but True Detective was awful this time. the weakest season of the 4 with ease.
Oh no no no.
Season 2 was easily the most laughably bad season.
Kelly Rielly in particular.
In fact, the only thing i thought was good, was Vince Vaughn legitmatly trying a serious role in a season that gave him no support.
I agree there was a lull in the middle, but for me the 2 leads performances got me through that, and their reveal was well above satisfactory for me. I feared the whole season it would be a dumb reveal...which i didnt think it wasseason 4 is just boring. there's no payoff. not even using tropes from the past worked -- dropping the "time is a flat circle" line, or the "2 cops execute a guy and lie about it" plot, for instance.
it also suffers from terrible pacing. the first couple were ok and then it went to sleep for nearly 3 complete episodes.
The Curse finale was... Unpredictable to say the least. The Curse & True Detective both crushed their finales…

One thing I am done with is the "damaged detective" storyline. Holy f*ck. Enough. Just once show me a detective that doesn't smoke, take drugs or drink and is married and a stable individual.
Season 2 was ridiculous. Every cop was headed for the looney bin. Season 3 I thought at least got-away from that a bit, and is the 2nd best season of TD(And what was up with Stephen Dorff's fantastic performance? That shocked me).

Should it be though? You can have a mystery show without a "Damaged Cop on the edge".Isn't that the whole point of the show?
Murder She Wrote proves thisShould it be though? You can have a mystery show without a "Damaged Cop on the edge".
