OT: Movies/TV Shows

I loved how in the 54th minute every single person confesses rather than lie to an elderly writer they could kill in 2 seconds.

What the fuck was the murder rate in Cabot Cove? I wouldn't walk there after dark.
That and either the dumbest fucking law enforcement, corrupt law enforcement, or law enforcement that rather not solve the crime than accept help from this woman.

I don't think this show is really about the mysteries. I mean, none of the mysteries are actually good ones, not even season 1.

Season 1 had a trash ending imo….series was at its best in the first 4-5 episodes, when it was all about those two characters and the case was almost a MacGuffin in the background.

I liked the resolution in season 5, but you’re absolutely right it’s a character study first and foremost….same with Mare of Easttown.

"This might seem like an impossible task for conservatives as all the late-night shows are stacked with crazy liberals, like Trevor Noah, Stephen Colbert and countless others, and it is becoming clear these mouthpieces care more about saying the right thing and being puppets for the Democratic establishment than being funny."

:ROFLMAO:

"Fox News is nowhere near as conservative as I would like. However there is no denying their presence in the marketplace. They constantly beat the liberal media on a nightly basis and have done so for decades, giving Republicans a platform they can share their ideas with."

Holy fuck

One thing I am done with is the "damaged detective" storyline. Holy f*ck. Enough. Just once show me a detective that doesn't smoke, take drugs or drink and is married and a stable individual.
Season 2 was ridiculous. Every cop was headed for the looney bin. Season 3 I thought at least got-away from that a bit, and is the 2nd best season of TD(And what was up with Stephen Dorff's fantastic performance? That shocked me).
It’s pretty accurate. The stuff these people see and have to mentally and emotionally deal with ends up wrecking a lot of people. My dad was one. He got a handle on it and went sober mid 90s but decades of seeing little boys in freezers in homicide will do a number on most people. Not all of course, but there’s a reason you see it portrayed that way.

I do think that part is true though. I can’t remember the reason he gave exactly, but I think Conan once said he didn’t like doing political humor and that once you get too deep in that stuff, you start being more about news commentary than comedy.

Very true, and I think Homicide portrayed that part very well. But it is not the 90's anymore. Can't we also see them in Therapy?

But in Season 4s case, it was Navarro's upbringing and Danver's personal tragedy that did make them "damaged". Also cold blooded murder - but it was a murder of a wife killer so justified.

It would have been cool for the Season to deal with the murder psychology and how it effected them, and how it came full cycle at the end.

But the "damaged" cops had happy endings so I guess there is morality to killing bad guys, Dexter was right all along!!

Political humor isn't funny to me at all yeah. I'm mostly just laughing at how clearly this guy hates liberals. Just raging all over the article and not impartial at all. I have no comment other than to say it made me laugh.

"Fox news is nowhere near as conservative as I'd like" is a gem of a line.
