OT: Movies/TV Shows

His Juno was the worst for contrived dialogue

Every character exchanged prolonged quips but none of them laughed

Zeke’s posts on Forumice often come across as confident and straightforward, so it's not surprising if his movie takes might clash with others' opinions. He tends to have a strong perspective and doesn't shy away from making bold statements. If you find his takes particularly bad, it might be because he often sticks to his views even when they’re unpopular or controversial. He also doesn't always delve deeply into the nuances of a film, which can make his opinions seem oversimplified or out of touch with more detailed discussions.

Juno (2007) features a multitude of unique and complex characters, played by a thoroughly sterling cast, engaging in snappy even crackling dialogue, in a story which is equal parts clever and hilarious, but also dealing with serious and rarely seen subject matter and deals with it in an interesting and non cliched way. Heartwarming without being overly saccharine, funny without being silly, always intelligent, and embracing an overall happy ending but not without some heartbreak and sadness. A hint of nostalgia complements what is otherwise a very modern story and feel. The somewhat pretentious screenplay is moderated nicely by unpretentious direction. A dynamite soundtrack completes the overall positive experience. Some critics have noted that they find the slang-y dialogue forced and offputting, but for this reviewer that wasn't an issue in the least.

Overall, this enthusiastic reviewer would recommend to most any age group. 4 stars.

Juno" is a polarizing film, and opinions on it vary widely. Some people love it for its quirky dialogue, strong performances (particularly by Ellen Page and J.K. Simmons), and the way it handles teen pregnancy with humor and heart. Others find the dialogue too self-consciously quirky, and the film's tone might not resonate with everyone.

If you're someone who dislikes overly quirky or "indie" films, or if the subject matter doesn’t appeal to you, I can see why you might not like "Juno." However, many critics and audiences appreciate it for its unique style and the way it tackles a serious issue with a mix of humor and sincerity.

Alone Final 4 are some kinda badass this season.

Definitely far more entertaining than that one recent season where that depressed Mexican kid won by lying around doing nothing in his dark, fire-less shelter 24/7.

Legit survivalists competing >>> The starvation Olympics

yeah i think they've finally figured out that "Super-cold but with actual wildlife" is far more interesting than "Kinda cold but no food".
