OT: Movies/TV Shows

Well-worn Lynch watches for me: Eraserhead , Elephant Man, Dune, Wild At heart

Watched and enjoyed but it's been a while and I probably need a refresh: Blue Velvet, Mulholland Dr., Lost Highway

Never really given a good solid honest watch all the way through: Twin Peaks

Fuck.

That hits like a ton of bricks. Like zeke said tho, he knew the likeliest outcome of smoking and chose to keep doing it until the end, so not particularly surprising. He went out of his own free will, doing what he wanted to.

Lynch is who got me meditating 15+ years ago….so for that alone I’ll always be thankful, but also some of my favorite flicks (The Straight Story being one of his quieter classics….Inland Empire being one of his more disturbing, but one I’ve seen half a dozen times too)

Goddamn…..realizing that we won’t get any more Lynch, fucking sucks.

lol i hope they saved stuff for the movie because there's a whole lotta graphic in that trailer. pretty great.

like a combo of Cabin in the Woods and 1408. I'll watch.

don't know if he's a great director but Lights Out and Shazam were definitely solid at least.

I don't remember if his Annabelle was one of the good or bad conjuring flicks tho.
It does look really good. I'm not a big fan of the horror genre, but I guess this is loosely based on the video game which I enjoyed the hell out of, highly recommend. Will definitely check the movie out as well.

oh it's a video game? makes me a little less optimistic. but no reason a video game can't be a good movie if they just use the basics as a starting point only.

also don't get how anyone can't be a fan of the horror genre it might be the supreme genre.

It's a game where you have to make choices throughout, and the story changes depending on what you do. People will live or die based on your actions. So I guess they are representing the idea of changing narratives with the re-living the night concept. Hope it's good!

I said at the time that playing the game is really like being in a horror movie where the story changes based on what you do.

They also made a second fairly similar game called The Quarry, which is also really good.

have you seen Cabin in the Woods?

That’s true…

The original is about an immigrant gangster named Tony who violently rises through the city’s crime world. His rise to power then dovetails with his relentless pursuit of his boss's mistress while his own sister pursues his best hitman. Ending in a bloody shootout massacre.

Which shares no resemblance to the Scarface we all know and love.

They should definitely remake bad movies.

Fantastic 4 needs another shot

I love the guy but his death was expected. He was unable to leave his house for the last six months due to emphysema
