OT: Movies/TV Shows

Finally got around to watching Senna the other night. It was really good. I was somewhat skeptical since I have no interest at all in racing.

Watched "Touching The Void" on HP'S recommendation......f*cking absurdly good documentary. One of the most powerful I ever recall seeing and a phenomenal look into the human condition and our inherent will to survive. Great great movie.

If anyone's looking...

Yeah... it really is unbelievably powerful. The story is amazing and they tell it in such a phenomenal manner. I defy anyone to watch that an not be awestruck.

"Vacation" got generally bad reviews but I gotta say I laughed quite a bit. It was underrated. The Chase cameo is one of the worst parts.

Yeah, and he tries doing the sad physical humour which does not work anymore.

Or certainly didn't work in that film.

There is a time and place for Chevy, and it was in Community....but that grandpa humor that was injected into Vacation was terrible.

I think what surprised me most is how enjoyable i found the kids.

Kids usually are cringe worthy in films like this.

Helms was Helms, and i typically hate Helms, but he was literally made for this role.

Also good to see people giving Christina Applegate things to do.

I should add, Leslie Mann also sucks, even in a brief meaningless role....How does Judd Apatow's unpleasant unfunny bitch wife keep getting roles?

I agree. The kids were great. Real characters who were funny. Not annoying kids mugging for the camera like usual with one-dimensional characters.
