OT: NFL thread

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

He could have ended the game by hitting a wide open Austin on 3rd down on their second last drive. Just sayin'.

Again though, only Romo could ever possibly be blamed after a game where he throws 4 TDs and no INTs. I do admit though when that throw was missed, I figured someone would find a way to blame him.

That is true. Given the task of protecting a 12 point lead, the defence had to make some plays, especially the secondary. Easier to blame one guy than 11 but it happens all the time when it comes to QB's.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

The Cowboys are a joke . . . and an enjoyable one at that. They should be 10-3 right now, not 7-6.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

I couldn't believe the piss poor time management by coach Garrett. Again. If he calls his timeout properly Romo gets a few more plays to drive them closer on the last drive.

And he's not the only coach I see who struggles with it week after week. I don't understand the problem since it's simple math and pretty easy to figure out. The announcers can figure it out, so can Jerry Jones yelling from his box...yet these coaches don't know when to call a timeout. They need to practice on Madden 12 or something.

Andy Reid is bad at it too. I guess there is too much going on on the sidelines and on the field, etc. Also, let's be honest: a lot of these guys are not that smart.

worst part was calling the time out two min into the 3rd because of twelve men on the field

Krust, speaking of jokes though, if the Cowboys are at 7-6, what are the Eagles aka the dream team at 5-8?

Also a joke but this discussion is about the 'Boys, who blew yet another game, and possibly the playoffs, last night.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

Eagles are a farce. My Vikings are a tragedy but both are irrelevant right now. At least the Cowboys are playing meaningful games worthy of discussion.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

Garrett looked like a deer in headlights last night at the end of the game. Romo had a good game but that final miss to Austin is just not something a great QB would do, which is why he is just a good QB.

I still feel the 'Boys secondary is widely responsible for a lot of their troubles this year. Rob Ryan has done well with the defensive line but has gaping holes in the back.

The Cowboys have a great kicker but now he is going to face the ice TO for the rest of his career and he will have nightmares and be out of football probably in a year or two.

They are also in big trouble for losing RB Murray for the rest of the season and it is Dec so we know what that means for Romo.

Vikings got screwed at the end of the game yesterday, was a clear facemask.

fyi, Austin blamed himself and said he lost the ball in the lights.
