OT: NFL thread

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

Garrett looked like a deer in headlights last night at the end of the game. Romo had a good game but that final miss to Austin is just not something a great QB would do, which is why he is just a good QB.

I still feel the 'Boys secondary is widely responsible for a lot of their troubles this year. Rob Ryan has done well with the defensive line but has gaping holes in the back.

The Cowboys have a great kicker but now he is going to face the ice TO for the rest of his career and he will have nightmares and be out of football probably in a year or two.

They are also in big trouble for losing RB Murray for the rest of the season and it is Dec so we know what that means for Romo.

Using Frank Walker back there tells me all I need to know. He's a crappy journeyman.

There's a real shortage of quality corners in this league, especially since most teams are pass happy.

that's the problem, no team can expect to have four or five top corners yet you need that many given the spread offences, four wides etc. Yesterday, Manning was throwing off his back foot, just lobbing them in the air etc but the receivers on most teams are better than the DBs on other teams so they get completed.

I really don't hate the Giants just a couple of their big mouths like Jacobs and Tuck.

Pierre-Paul was a beast last night.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

Pierre Paul is f ucking ridiculous. He looks he's playing in his backyard with his friends. Great all game and then tops it off with a strategy to block the FG and pulls it off. I want to clone him and stick him on the Vikings.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

fyi, Austin blamed himself and said he lost the ball in the lights.
He's a good teammate taking the blame and slamming his owner for the lights in the building just like Dez Bryant sort of did when he lost the ball in the lights on one of the NYG punts.

The Cowboys have to be the easiest team in Vegas to bet the spread against.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

The NFL has basically outlawed defence. Unless a QB over or under-throws his receiver or gets intercepted it's going to be a completion or a pass interference call. There is almost no scenario in which a defender can prevent a pass from being completed without getting flagged. Not in today's NFL.

this, and most WRs the second they don't catch jump up with the flag motion

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

Ravens, Steelers and Texans play great D. Broncos D is very under-rated and allow pass challenegd Tebow a chance to win every week.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

The Johnny Knox injury was probably the scariest injury I've ever seen in sports.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

Broncos did score 23 points..that's usually more than they need.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

The biggest miracle that should be attached to Tebow is whether he survives a full year in the NFL with rushes like he does without suffering a devastating injury. He reminds me of Kit Ramsey's twin brother in Bowfinger who has to cross the busy freeway in LA shouting out... "Heavenly God, Heavenly God..."

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

For anyone who didn't see the Tim Tebow SNL skit... hilarious.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

you have to take into account that we're the most sophisticated generation of humans to ever walk the planet and that we've seen it all

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

Also, his long term prognosis is fine...

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

I don't think I've heard that he's going to be "fine." There's a very real chance that he'll never play again. But yeah he's not going to die anyways.

That still doesn't take away from the brutality of the injury though. Most players are "okay" long term after grotesque injuries.

Bears WR Johnny Knox expected to resume career after horrific back injury
SportingNews.com - ‎Dec 19, 2011‎
All signed pointed to good news for Chicago Bears wide receiver Johnny Knox ahead of Monday's back surgery. Knox was injured in NFL Week 15's loss to the Seattle Seahawks on a frightening hit that injured lower vertebrae.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

That's awesome news. It doesn't take away from just how horrific the injury looked though.
