OT: NFL thread

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

No objective fan thought the Bills could keep it going. They lack talent. And that contract they gave Fitzpatrick as a reward for a few games looks to be as foolish as the one the Birds gave Dog Killer for his his five good games last season.

And, let me congratulate Romo on another good game. Happy yet, Count? But he really has to win a playoff game or two this season before I start to believe in him as a top notch QB.

Romo will always be the guy who has to win the next game to get recognition. It is like those signs at Hooters, "Free beer tomorrow".

Hopefully fatty can beat the Giants tonight, will be beneficial for the Cowboys

You have to win in the playoffs to get recognition. That's the nature of the beast in professional sports in North America.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

Cowboys now have the inside track to the division title. Easier schedule than the Giants and as long as they split with Giants and beat Eagles, they have division tie breaker at 4-2 vs 3-3 against Giants.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

The Cowboys have a way to go to be considered a champion team or even one that gets to the NFC championship game against the Packers. Jason Garrett is starting to remind me of JM with his inability to coach properly with a lead. Must be the 3rd or 4th time this year where they have had a one score lead and can't increase it to a two score game. I am also starting to wonder if Rob Ryan has told his defense that they need to actually prevent the other team from catching the ball and not just tackle them after they have it in their hands and have picked up another easy 1st down.

The Eagles game was amusing... Vince Young actually looked good in the 2nd half. The 'Boys thank him.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

I can't see Patriots going far in the playoffs...their defense will crumble in the first game they play in the playoffs

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

Steelers will probably make it through again...

On the other side, Packers look too strong...maybe Saints could beat them in the conference finals

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

AFC seems wide open this year. Most teams have weaknesses..it depends who gets hot at the right time.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

Flacco will have to do a bit more for them to make it...

I know they beat Steelers twice already, but Ravens might lose even before they meet Steelers in playoffs

I think Saints can give Packers a run for their money.....but Packers will probably make it to the SB again

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

49ers have had a ridiculously soft schedule thus far but they play the Ravens on Thursday and the Steelers a few weeks later

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

'Niners play in weak division, easy schedule, etc. They need to win a playoff game or two to get some respect. See, Count, it's not just Romo.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

49ers getting no respect at 9-1

none

and they play a mean suffocating brand of defense that you can't run on. I like them, even with Smith at QB who benefits greatly from a top notch ground game. I think the only way to beat GB is with defense not out gunning them, and SF has the sack happy d to take a run at them.

Re: OT: NFL thread 2011

and about Tebow....his style seems to offend some. Curious that, as long it can win. Not sure why we're not seeing more arm from Tebow. He threw well in college ball, had a very good td/int ratio, and completed passes at an over 60% clip for good yardage. He CAN pass.

Just not a football.
