Kelly lost 1 big game per season for 4 seasons. None of them were against the Dolphins. When the money was on the table the Bills destroyed the Dolphins.

Have you guys ever seen a list/ranking where Kelly was ahead of Marino......other than Bills fans saying it ?

I've been watching NFL for decades, pretty much every Sunday, and although I'm a Dolphins fan, I still maintain that in my decades of watching the NFL and seeing dozens of all-time QB rankings/discussions on CBS, NBC, FOX, ESPN, ABC (etc), i've yet to see a list that has Kelly ahead of Marino.

I listen to ESPN and NFL Sirius XM radio every morning (Mike and Mike, and The Opening Drive)....never was Kelly ahead of Marino.

I guess the rest of the NFL world also thinks Marino is ahead of Kelly

Those lists are solely on passing yards and TD. Not game management. I saw Marino play a ton. The guy wasn't a team player and often blamed the rest of the team for losses. He had talent but he wasn't a better QB than Kelly.

Putting forward the "pundit" argument is laughable considering how many times they talk out of their collective asses.

Marino is in the top 3 in so many NFL records.....no way he's gonna be penalized because Dolphins never had a decent team around him for most of his career.

Give him Terrell Davis....give him Jerry Rice.....give him Emmitt, Irving.....come on people

Unitas was the best of his era by far.

Its hard to judge the two by passing stat records cause it was a different era.

Unitas' colts still ran the ball a ton. DBs could molest recievers. Etc...

Just like bradys stats and marino/montana stats shouldnt be compared. 60s stats vs 80s stats are different.

Id still put unitas with the all time greats cause hes so far ahead of his peer group

Marino is still in the top 2-3 of lots of NFL record, and this even with the league becoming a QB-friendly game today.

I guess Marino not winning a SB will slowly push him down the list as the years go by.

I'd have to go look at NFL record books again....I know I saw Unitas's name a few times in top 3 of some categories. He was before all our times, but most analyst don't rank him top 5 because they say his legend was amplified from his ''we will win guarantee''....nevertheless, i'll take your word for it if you tell me he was ahead of everyone in his era :cheers2:

Unitas didnt have a guarantee that is joe namath who i agree is overrated.

You don't get in my top 5 anything if you've never won a championship but Kelly got a hell of a lot closer more often than Marino.

The giveaway should have been when I saw Unitas' name in all those records on NFL website....

I don't think Marino is top 5 either. If you are solely going off passing yards then sure. But there is more than that to being a QB.

That's a load of shit. You forget I live here and did when he was being his little bitch self. Marino is a major reason I never became a Phins fan, sure he could throw a ball but his game management sucked. He also had one of the best o-lines during that era. Enough already how pauvre Dan didn't have the support.

Agree, he surely was a player who's legacy became bigger the farther away from people who actually watched him...He had the arm, and is he was a superior passer, yet a qb job is way beyond that, and he was not as good in other areas .
