OT: NFL thread

mentioned it wasnt even a contact drill , I guess a total fluke injury thats happens from time to time

Non contact injuries are usually worse.

Non-contact usually means ACL or MCL tear.... non-contact injury is usually BAD NEWS

The more i read this reminds me of the Louisville kid who broke his leg on the jump shot in the NCAA Basketball tournament a couple years ago. Just jumped and planted wrong on the way down and leg shattered on him.

Too bad the kid was coming into his own as a solid QB

I asked one of the Sportsbooks in Vegas if there was a bet for whether Romo would injure his back at some point during the season. The guy laughed and said no, that they would lose too much money on that one. I then proceeded to put some money down on the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl so the guy laughed again and gave me 2 drink coupons for my eventual misery he said.

You know your team sucks when a Vegas bookie takes pity on you.

Why do you flash red meat in front of Wehave's face?

Nice, which sportsbook in Vegas do you use? I've had issue with the one at Wynn vegas.

vikes paid a steep price for Bradford, but they needed to -- they have a top 5 defence and an aging Pererson. These contention windows aren't permanent.

They could have gone the Ben Scrivens route; I'm glad they did not.

Not sure Sam is the answer , maybe a Scrivens type when it's said and done unless they see Teddy missing part of next year as well

With the way Bradford has played the last few years, one could argue they went the Scrivens route....

Barring a miracle, Teddy don't be ready for the start of next season.

Bradford is a stop gap but Vikes just need a game manager type -- their D should be excellent and their running game is sound. He gives them a chance. Sean Hill doesn't.

Since I mostly do Futures betting when I am in Vegas in the summer I pick up betting sheets from a Caesars property, an MGM property and the Venetian and then see which of these are paying the best odds... sometimes it's quite a disparity amongst them. This year I made my bets at a Caesars property.

I don't spend as much time in the Sportsbooks as I use to do as I don't bet on horse racing anymore but there are some nice ones out there. The Venetian's has been updated with countless mega screens. The Mirage and Caesar's Palace use to have amazing venues but haven't kept up with the times from what I last saw.

I don't recall seeing Wynn's... what's your beef with them?

Great trade for the Eagles. Vikings? Not so sure.

It's a risk they had to take. Can't go into brand new stadium with a pretty good roster with Sean Hill as your QB. EAgles did well -- most parties that deal with desperate trade partners do.
