OT: NFL thread

If it wasn't from that, it would have been from a random hit in the regular season.

I'm not surprised at all, and regardless, the Cowboys weren't going to have a great season with Romo anyway. The defense is going to be dreadful.

I'd get Zeke/Morris/McFadden to run the ball 60% of the game and let Prescott grow slowly.

time to walk away while you can still walk and enjoy life , how does LTI or insurance work to pay for Romo if he is deemed longer capable of playing ?

They did this year with Prescott.

A couple good pre-season games doesn't make him a blue chip QB.

He might be the replacement, he might be really good in the season. He might suck and he's the second coming of Jimmy Clausen; a guy the Panthers thought was their QB of the future when they took him in the second round. He played well in pre-season; got some games in the regular season, sucked balls, and after that season they drafted Cam Newton.

Then again Prescott could be Russell wilson part 2.

Its way too early to say Prescott will be one or the other.

he looks great , cant teach the IT factor and he has it , wouldnt surprise me if he never gives Romo his job back this year.

Again certainly possible.

But we have to wait and see.

Defenses are playing Vanilla right now... no fancy coverages, no crazy blitzes, etc... the playbook hasn't been unleashed.

I don't take much of what he did in pre-season too seriously, except that he was the best rookie QB in the league during those games. Could mean something, could mean nothing.

It's definitely a lot more encouraging than if he had struggled.

Sure, its better than struggling. Still not enough to be a proven solution though.

The good news is that he can't be worse than the guys the Cowboys used last year, Weeden and Cassel, i think it was.

Tokarski and Condon looked pretty good at first too.

Those 2 clowns dont run an offence from scrimmage and expected to orchestrate the passing game , they are paid to stop pucks in the few games they get. Even if its preseason Dak has made plays 10 year vets dont make , he has been flawless moving the ball downfield.

I know teams have yet to play their top defensive roster but you cant teach what he has done so far . A clown like Foles would of chocked in those few games.

He's a 4th round draft pick. Odds are high that he'll never amount to much. Tom Brady is an outlier.
Thr choirboy in Seattle wasn't a high pick either.

Whether Prescott ends up being the long term replacement or not remains to be seen, but he was drafted to be the replacement.
