he's twisting himself into a pretzel. On one hand he's an advocate of women's rights....and on the other he supports 'old world' practices, that make women less than equal.

votes matter more.

Everything that comes out of his mouth is verbal diarrhea. I think he'll still win the election, we have too many freeloaders/socialists/left wingers in this country now that will vote for him. But I get so angry every time I see his smug face and hear the dumb shit that comes out of his mouth. My 8.5 month old son has a higher IQ than him.

It is a delicate balancing act. Right of culture vs women rights. I say ban ALL religious symbols no crosses no churches no synagogues no mosques no blue white jewish scarve no yamulkaha no menorahs no niqabs etc

he'd probably lose a tight one right now if polls are any indication.

What lawmakers need to differentiate is cultural traditions versus religious traditions. A lot of the things regarding headgear and face covering isn't religious but cultural. But if any religious or cultural practice falls outside secular Canadian law then it should be deemed illegal, i.e. "When in Rome..." If a woman from Canada moves to the Middle East she's expected to cover herself. That's how they roll over there. You don't like it, don't go. That should work both ways. If you're a Middle Eastern man and you move to Canada you can't expect our laws to respect your supposed right to treat your womenfolk like dogs. That's not how we roll over here.

wehave, you're an example of why this isn't a good position for Trudeau to take. This issue is managing to cross party lines. To be a supporter of women's rights and to concurrently support Trudeau's position is very hard to reconcile.

True, but then that would-be supporter would have to remind themselves that the reason why the Conservatives aren't conflicted on the issue is because they don't really support womens' rights to begin with.

Except those numbers aren't all newly insured people. The newly insured are about 11 million of which more than half were placed on the better than nothing, but previously existing and inferior medicaid plan. While it's good news that some uninsured people are getting some benefit, many observers, even from the left, understand that there will be many changes down the road to this healthcare law...if not an outright re-write of the plan. Which of course drives the Obama fan club out of their minds.

who knows? Although it's quite plausible.

Anyway too early at this point. Polls will change by then....and with any Liberal luck maybe you won't need them. ;)

there's been enough gerrymandering and enough added seats in Sheepland err Alberta to ensure the Harperites get at least 140 seats :) Our hope is that people move from Mulcair back home.
