OT: Politics & News... Have at it.

Really? Name me one where it "works well" like you claim.

Western Europe, Canada, basically the entire civilized world, the USA is the only democracy without that system, but I guess to right wingers like you, the rest of the world must be wrong. Je dit Seulement

Like I said, it probably works well in very small, very wealthy countries. Otherwise, I'm not interested in waiting weeks, months, or even years for medical procedures. But I guess you don't mind.

If they are urgent you get dealt with quickly even here. It isn't as bad as some make out.

Search your feelings, the Canadian is deep inside you, it is your true self.

Sure, you wait longer. But the US spends something like 50% more per capita than any other developed nation. The Canadian system would be pretty awesome if we could increase spending by 50% on it.

What about Australia?

And I agree that it's crap in Canada btw.

I can tell you stories involving very close family members where that was not the case at all.

you always have anectodal evidence about everything don't you "Hispanics I know." "even democrats I know in Floriday..." now it is "close family members" je dit seulement

Whenever a family member of mine has needed a procedure on an emergency basis, they have gotten it asap. Granted, I have always lived in a major city so that helps but I know of no one who died waiting for a medically urgent procedure.

Good for you, mine haven't. That's not anecdotal.

You would be if you said your family member didn't get care if it was an emergency.

The person, who was critically ill, had to wait several days in a hospital to get a simple CT-scan. That's not exactly "getting dealt with quickly," which is what I was responding to in David's post, but as per usual, you have reading comprehension issues.

I don't think the health care quality is the same across Canada. In Quebec it's especially bad.

Quebec has a good mix of private/public services. My family members aren't wealthy but they elected to jump the queue at critical times.
