OT: The M-Fing Food Thread

Ketchup is a must-have anytime I’m having a burger and/or fries, whether it’s cheap crap or quality homemade stuff.

I could go without literally any other condiment or topping on my burger, but it’s got to have ketchup.

Ideally though, along with ketchup it’ll also be topped with blue cheese, bacon, onion, tomato, mustard & pickles. If blue cheese isn’t available, then sub-in some mayo & aged white cheddar.

I don't like Ketchup anywhere near bread, so nix it on hotdogs or burgers.
It is a must for scrambled eggs. Occasionally I'll use it on fries or cold meatloaf, though hot mustard on a is my preference on cold meatloaf.

We have ketchup (catsup?) coz of the urchins. Otherwise, I’m not sure we’d ever use it.

I’ve become a devotee of gochujang.

I would murder a person before being forced to eat blue cheese. That is one foul fromage.

It’s actually kinda just wrong with eggs. As Mindz said, like adding candy.

I can eat most stuff I don’t like if I had to. But I actually am repulsed by blue cheese. I can’t eat anything that it’s on without intense suffering.

I don't really understand the ketchup on grilled cheese thing. And on eggs? No no no. I'm with zeke. Only hot dogs, but only because I think hot dogs suck and I don't mind masking their flavor. If I use it as a dip I will always add mayo and maybe some hot sauce to increase creaminess, dilute the flavor and give it a kick.

Blue cheese is disgusting.

There. I just agreed with LoF on something about food.

Made a great sauce for some lamb last night.

Saute shallots in lamb drippings. Get soft.
Couple of glugs of white wine. Reduce by at least half (med high heat).
Cup of bone broth. Reduce by at least half.
Tablespoon of grainy dijon + couple of glugs of heavy cream. Whisk, low heat until light boil.
Finish with a glob of butter, whisk in.

Delicious!
