OT: The M-Fing Food Thread

So my wife picked up some polenta which in full disclosure I've never prepared before but it is substantially lower in carbs than pasta. Reading up on it told me it's a northern Italian thing so who better to ask than @CH1. Anyone got any good recipes or recommendations? I already plan on using my sauce on it but are there other awesome recipes for polenta?

this recipe has a lot of butter and cheese, so it tastes fantastic...you don't need an Instant Pot to make it.

if you're using your sauce on it, and want to grill the polenta the next day (that is my favourite way to eat it), I would skip the cheese/butter and use a 4/1 ratio of water/polenta. Polenta grinds are different, this article does a good job of walking you through it.

I love seeing polenta become non-poor people food. I will never look at it like that, but it's kinda cool. Of course, I'd like to think I've made it enough to move on from polenta, but it could just be early childhood trauma talking.

I'm not ignoring you guys in the politics thread btw. Need a break and there are tons of posts I missed. I'll get back to it eventually.

polenta is for nazitalians.

i only know the pre-made stuff:

I don't really know what to do with it other than slice it into tranches (like above but thinner), and then fry them in oil until crispy (essentially deep-fried). and then salt of course.

But I really like it that way.

I was thinking of cutting them as you said, grilling them on the grill then dumping my thick meat sauce on it.

Can you grill it?

tastes good to me. I really like it.

and yeah you can grill anything. i'm sure it would be tasty grilled. though put some oil or butter on it afterwords along with salt./spice.
