This is what I wrote...

So this is totally unrelated to what happened on the plane - United was 100% wrong in their handling of the matter.

But man is there ever a risk with having something go viral these days. Immediately the internet sleuths goto work and dig up positively ANYTHING ugly you might have in your past.

Apparently this guy has some GHOSTS. And now everyone knows.

I didn't even list his past issues, and clearly stated that it's unrelated to what happened on the plane, and that United was in the wrong.

Stupid zeke.

Still don't think any of that is relevant to the incident in question. The guy was assaulted because he didn't feel that $800 in airline credit was fair compensation for missing his flight and refused the offer. None of the other stuff should matter.

Holy shit. I'm pretty sure corky wasn't saying he will get stiffed by united, it was a comment on the double-edged sword that is social media.

Speaking of hens clucking, I never accused corky of saying that.

I merely pointed out that none of the stuff about the guy's past should be relevant. I was supporting the point about how social media makes a big deal out of irrelevant details, and often participates in victim shaming.
 
Interesting though, other than a lawyer on linkedin stating that if you are asked to leave a plane, you must (as he said period. end of story.), no one is trying to defend United anymore and the attacks on the victim have stopped. It clearly was an attempt by United to discredit him. Once that failed, United is no longer trying.
 
Weird timing, since Hernandez was just acquitted of those other two murders literally a few days ago.

His lawyer was also making positive sounds about getting his other conviction overturned on appeal.

His lawyer was grandstanding. Almost no chance his other conviction was getting overturned.

Yeah, that's probably true. I'm sure his lawyer's optimism was mainly based on the number of billable hours he could get out of an appeal.
 
French election is a week away. The first round of voting anyways.

While I support Le Pen for her Frexit plan, I have said in the past that I would support any French politician who says they would leave the EU.

In pops Jean-Luc Mélenchon, the French Bernie sanders, Communist to the core, proposing 100 percent tax on income higher than 400k, proposing that the CEO can't make more than 20 times the wage of the lowest paid employee, the guy who has been using holograms of himself to hold multiple rallies, the guy who made a campaign video game targeting the rich, and yes, renegotiation of terms with the EU or a referendum on leaving.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon has surged into third place., a few points back of Emmanuel Macron.

So in my ideal world I'm hoping for Jean-Luc Mélenchon and Le Pen in the runoff, and a Jean-Luc Mélenchon win. I would rather the communist to the proto facist.
 
A someone who went through 20+ years of constant pain before a new hip, man oh man do I ever feel for that poor lady.
And hope they are on the right track.
