OT: The News Thread

Re: OT - The News Thread

Yep. There's lineups all day long. They move pretty quickly though, have to give them that.

It's a grim situation here in Fort Mac...I try to give my money to the local places (Havana's >>> Timmies) but on the occasions I'm stuck in that ****ing lineup, I curse a lot.

The lineups here are far worse than anything you've ever experienced in a Timmies. A "city" of 100K, with the only 2 Timmies within 400km

Re: OT - The News Thread

I'm sure a certain juice company isless then that.

Oh absolutely...we've discussed that at length. Timmies though..is 1.2 million in total expenditure I believe, with a very large chunk of that required in liquid.

Crack>>>>Coffee in that town

The funny thing is CNRL ( and isolated gas plant an hour north of town HL ) has one on site.

Imagine the killing they make there

Re: OT - The News Thread

Whaaat? How is there only 2?

That's an awesome question. The local tale that is told to explain it is that the guy who owns both has territorial rights and won't open another one because they're too difficult to keep staffed...as is, they pay their Timmy Ho's 14-16 an hour (welcome to Fort Mac) and have too much trouble with turnover. Apparently the world as we know it would cease to exist if he had to open a 3rd store.

and Coke >>>> Crack.

Coke is the drug of choice among site workers.

I've never been out on CNRL's spot...but I would imagine that their employees keep the place busy

I don't know if I'll have that much liquid but I have a guy working on making me some chedda. Hopefully it pays off

That's nuts. Ajax is about the same size and we have 11.

My plans have hit a small hitch, but are still on track more or less. Speaking of which...I may have to come crash for a week or so next month while I take a course down there. Just sorting out funding for the course right now, I'll fire you a text when I have details.

Re: OT - The News Thread

I wonder what town has the most Timmy locations per capita.

Ew. I'm glad for no Krispy Kreme locations around here.

Re: OT - The News Thread

Oh... see in Oshawa, the crackheads hang out at the Timmys.

Here, they hang out in front of the 7/11.

The downtown Tim's is too busy for them to get comfortable, and the other one is up in Thickwood, which is too far from the shelters and crack houses for them to bother going to.

That's nuts. Ajax is about the same size and we have 11.

The town could easily, easily support another 6-7 of them.

Re: OT - The News Thread

Anyone who drinks Timmies has a serious death wish. Its 2010, and they still only serve fake sugar or white sugar. Interesting that they have been allowed to grow so large isn't it? Well not to me.

I go into Timmys and order about ten coffees, but under the proviso, that they give me brown sugar. I always ask for the manager, the owner and drive them KB nuts. I ask them a million ways how they could NOT have brown sugar, honey, etc... And the lame answers NEVER cease to entertain, disgust and amaze me.

After about fifteen minutes and i am fully entertained, I let them go. But i wouldn't drink one of their coffees for a thousand bucks.
