OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Depends on what you mean by "that good"

He's a Big 3&D 3 or stretch 4 who shoots 40% on high volume and he's a plus defender. Signed to reasonable money for the next few seasons.

Just a good starter who does the things we're short on. Wing D, spacing, shooting. But he's not limited to shooting in the corner. He's a legit threat above the break, can shoot on the move a bit, very good pull up guy in transition.

More of a 3 than a 4 but long enough to cover most 4s. Can really shoot it. Rates well offensively and defensively in starters minutes and doesn't need a lot of touches to be effective....which is good since scottie/iq/rj will be getting all the touches.

He's like a skinny OG who doesn't have delusions of being a primary ballhandler.

Quick round up

- Also sounds like the Clippers are going to get the other Bridges, Miles. Sounds like Norman Powell would be the guy going the other way....fucking Free Norm if he goes to Charlotte. Would be a fantastic solution to our SG issues.
- If Demar goes, Chicago is likely to shop Vucevic.
- Lonzo Ball is working out and apparently looks like he's ready to attempt a return. Bulls are trying to trade him as well, he's in the last year of his deal so that might actually happen.
- Milwaukee has had talks with GTJ. He's taking a pay cut anywhere he goes, would be competing for a starting job in Milwaukee. That would be a pretty suspect backcourt defensively though.
- Miami is trying to get Demar

with our current roster, it also depends a whole lot on Gradey Dick.

C Poeltl --- Olynyk ----- Boucher
F Barnes --- Vezenkov - Mogbo
F Barrett --- Agbaji -----Temple
G Dick ----- Brown ----- Walter
G Quickley - Mitchell --- JFL/Carton/Shead

Yeah, I'll pass at the idea of paying his extension unless it's cheap and giving up our best trade piece to get him.

Hes okay, but just okay. Would rather play it out over the season on cam or Wiggins

Brown or Vezenkov aren't ideal, but they'll both do.

Last year was a terrible year for Vezenkov for a bunch of reasons and he was still -0.9 BPM and -2.2bpm. Brown was dogshit last year in general and worse for us, but the 2 previous seasons he was a -0.5 BPM for Denver while doing their defensive matchup work (a -1.0 BPM) and a +0.7/+0.2 the year before.

Obviously neither are ideal starter, but both are professional enough and do enough professional things to be the 5th best guy on the floor with the starting unit and not weigh them down.

The guy you want to trade Brown for (Caleb Martin) had a -2.0 BPM and a -1.5 EPM last year. Very similar calibre of player to the two guys we already have on the roster.

Caleb Martin:

Was good are a pure bench player, as soon as he started playing more minutes against starters, he struggled offensively and the D looks to be sliding as he gets older as well.

Here's Brown fwiw:

Functional 6th man, fringy starter every year but last year. For clarity, I don't want to keep him. But I'd rather start the season with him to work his value for a trade to get a guy who is a better fit here long term.
