Would like to see a bit more NBA style pacing mixed in to the offence, but I do fucking love that all most of our depth guards/wings are plus defenders & hustle guys. Dort is a massive pain in the ass to play against. But even NAW and Nembhard just flat out good defenders.

I have a theory. That Steve Nash had to steal the free throw ability of an entire nation to be as good from the line as he was, and we're still paying it off.

Agreed. In future tournaments the Nembhard's and NAW's will be Mathurin's and Sharpe's

We could really use some size to show up though. We basically have Edey and Clarke at the 4-5. Going to have to go with some small ball ass lineups.

That's where American depth is just killer. The 11th-12th guy on their roster is an elite 2 way guard capable of locking down Shai or Jamal in a big game.

Honestly....I think our best lineup is to swap Dort into the starting 5 for RJ. The D is better and he's more of a spacing threat. It also lets RJ go full RJ with this second unit that looks pretty fucking anemic and uncreative to me.

1) Why can't we shoot? Why when 40% shooters in the NBA put on the national team jersey, none of them can shoot
2) Why do good NBA role players, who I see a fair bit and play within themselves for their NBA team turn into Kobe pantomime as soon as they put on the team Canada jersey?

Yeah, I get that this is the US and we're just not as good. Also get that this is an exhibition/warm up game so yeah whatever. Maybe I just have PTSD from watching NAW go 1-11 from 3 in meaningful international games in the past. So watching Nembhard toss multiple step back bricks in a half and Powell take more dribbles in a half than he did all year for Dallas is irking me a bit.

but it would be funny if they paid Ingram what they wouldn't pay Siakam.

He would actually have better tools to be a complementary piece than Siakam did (i.e. he can shoot from deep), but I don't know if he'd accept not getting top usage, and he doesn't bring much defensively.
