OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Do you think Scoot Henderson is a guy the Raps should go after as a "redraft"?

I know he is having a bad year, but if the Raps have turned a corner on the development end, he would be a good point guard for the future.

Can't see the risk being worth the price. I still think he's a crazy good prospect and can still turn into an impact pro, but I can't see Portland cutting bait on him for cheap while in a full rebuild. The only types of trades that would make sense for Portland would be if they get a better young player in return.

Zion would be a high risk home run swing if I’ve ever seen one. Probably ends up with egg in the face of whatever team takes the risk. I’d fully support it here if the price was right.

Pros for Zion here that could right his ship:
Teammates with RJ
High upside team around him
Maybe getting to hang out with Drake gets him motivated.

Cons:
He’s a fat lazy piece of shit.

something i noticed about Gravey is that his 3pt% is only down on corner 3s. the easiest kind.

he's made a huge jump up in above break 3s in both quantity and quality.

'24: AB3 2.4 (30.6%), CR3 1.6 46.8%, MDR 1.0 (39.3%), PNT 0.7 (39.5%), RA 1.7 (60.0%)
'25: AB3 5.5 (35.2%), CR3 1.9 31.7%, MDR 2.7 (47.5%), PNT 1.7 (50.0%), RA 3.0 (50.0%)

shooting over 35% on high volume above the break is excellent.

corner 3 should be money for him, but hasn't been working for him this year at all - but there's no reason to think that won't fix itself going forward.

if you've got a better way for this franchise to get a top player, I'd love to hear it..

Eh, I'm coming around to the idea that the best player in this draft might be the current #7 pick. I'm turning into a Tre Johnson stan the more I pay attention to the top prospects.

It's generally 50/50 as to whether the best player in the draft is even in the top 3-5 picks. There are some special years where generational or quasi generational guys are available but most of the time? The best player in the draft is somewhere else.

Because I'm bored until I head out shortly...

Best player in each draft year (by career VORP) and draft slot.

For anyone who cares why I'm starting to man crush on Tre Johnson:

6'6 shooting guard with a 6'10 wingspan. Elite 3 level scorer with tools to do everything. Plus athlete without being eye popping but can definitely play above the rim. Handles are fucking outstanding and they help him get wherever he wants to in the mid range and he has a mid range bag. When he gets there, his footwork is way better than I've seen out of Bailey if we're arguing about who the best pure scorer in the class is.

Needs to build strength, and I've seen flashes of playmaking but he's probably a primary guard at the NBA level so you'd like to have him on ball as much as possible and the playmaking isn't consistent enough for that yet. Would like to see him slash to the rim a bit more as well, he settles for his mid range game a lot after using his dribble to create separation. Would hopefully come with the added strength. He's athletic enough to finish around the rim, but not strong enough to absorb the contact.

Upside comps would be a 6'6 Dame or Demar with 5-10 more feet worth of jumper range. We haven't seen many pure scorers like him at the top of the draft over the last few years. Definitely better as a collegiate scorer than guys like Mathurin, RJ, Sexton, Coby White, etc. Closer to Ant, & Cade.
