Nah, he was a AA guy, he was inferior.

I was all for keeping stroman and signing him. Then if you can attract or develop some better pitchers stroman is a solid 2/3 guy even in his early 30’s. Unless you get some good additions for the club and then spend the money on another solid pitcher this offseason.
To be fair, Stroman was set to be cheap 1 more year, and i am not at all convinced he ages well into hos 30's
I can live with what we got back for Stro. A little light, but not terrible. The rest of the deals recently, and this fixation with guys who are at best marginally above replacement value are the killer pieces that will delay the rebuild.I'm entirely fine with moving on from Stroman. I'm not fine with what we got for him, or basically any of the rest of the talent we traded. We're ****ing allergic to selling high, even when it's clear as ****ing day when we should be selling on guys and when we should be keeping them.

SRW i like a lot, but imo we should have got 2 of those not Kay
Kay was a Top 100 prospect as recently as June on multiple lists. Mets don't really have another SWR anyways. And were any other teams offering better packages? I am inclined to believe the Jays on this point due to how few high-end prospects were traded at all.
From the MLB.com Top 100:
Bauer trade (Trammell 30, Logan Allen 98)
Greinke trade (Beer 100)
TB/MIA trade (J. Sanchez 42).
Prospect trade of Chisholm (59) for Gallen.
That's it. (unless I missed someone)
So of the 4 prospects traded for Grienke, 3 were top 100 on the mlb.com list. I didn't bother to check the others.
Atkins has set the bar so low by targeting non-prospects that he trades his best piece for a guy with actual upside and people think he's done well.
Could have called the Twins back and based on th rest of theit disaster deals no, they dont get the benefit of the doubt
There were no disaster deals (though Aaron Sanchez was highly questionable). And the Twins didn't trade for a starting pitcher.
