OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

So, I'm sure Springer is a new man, But I meant Stripling.

Yeah, I don't know what voodoo our pitching coach has, but Stripling isn't the first arm who comes in looking broken and like they will never pitch again, he makes some sort of tweak, and he's back to the best he's ever thrown. Maybe some guys just gotta hit rock bottom, shake it out, and then that resets them? Just crazy that he had that 8 run game, then the next game they switched him to be a bulk guy so skipped the first inning, and since that, he's only had 1 "bad" game out of 6.

A lot of it's on the players, but Pete Walker is considered one of the better pitching coaches in the game.

As for Stripling, I saw a side by side clip comparing his delivery before and after, and it was night and day. He thought he was tipping his pitches before, so he made some big changes and it's paid off. Lot of people thought he should have been starting for the Dodgers when he was the swingman there.

Yeah, I know he had a bunch of years where he was pretty dominant as a swingman. But just curious that he's a lot like Ray - they both had times long ago where they looked great, and then fell apart, almost to the point of being un-rosterable and out of the league. An then magic happens, and now they're back to as good as they ever were.

I do think Pete Walker deserves a lot of credit.

I'd love to see him work with a talented staff.

Yeah, whether or not he was tipping his pitches, the change in mechanics is working.
Huge deal for us if this continues.

Nows the time.

Healthy, and nothing but BAL (awful), SEA (mediocre), and TB (chance to make up ground) up until the allstar break.

This team ain’t going nowhere. If they had a bullpen they’d be leading the division. Too many blown leads now to come back from. It’s embarrassing really. And Montoyo keeps using Chatwood in key situations, it’s unreal

The bullpen is so bad that it's managing to waste what has been a downright competent performance from the starting staff. Spots that could/should have been clown shows in the rotation have come up Millhouse. Basically wasting Ray, Stripling, & Matz's ressurrection from trash to solid and a professional enough bunch of outings from Manoah.

It’s a bit scary but the bullpen is still actually better than average in terms of runs allowed. 6th in the AL, 13th in MLB in ERA. It is probably going to get a lot worse.
