Basically you get a draft bonus pool equivalent to the slot value for all of your picks. The Pirates had the first overall pick which has a slot value of $8,415,300. The Jays' top pick (#19) has a slot value of $3,359,000. The Jays lost their second rounder for signing Springer. The Pirates second rounder (37th overall) is worth about $2M and they also have a supplemental pick. This continues down to the 10th round where slot is about $150K. Add it all up and that's your bonus pool.
Vlad's got that great mix of some swagger and knowing that he's a big thing, with still being a little kid. Like the story I heard that he was shyly asking permission from Ohtani's interpreter I think to go say hi to him. He's not as oevr the top as guys like Tatis or Acuna, but he's no Trout in how he handles himself.
