OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

It looked like Manoah had a chance when Verlander missed a few starts and it briefly wasn’t certain whether he would be back in the regular season. But then Verlander came back, was amazing, and basically sewed it up.

Manoah will finish top-5 though, maybe even top-3.

He was named a finalist, so is in the top 3. I'm guessing he'll be 3rd. As much as people move away from traditional stats, 1.75 ERA and the lead in Wins means Verlander will likely be almost unanimous. I'm guessing 2nd trough 8th is going to be a very split pot. Manoah was up there in innings, wins, and ERA, but isn't as much a strikeout pitcher as some of the other guys in the race.

Didn’t realize that, but I agree it will be 1. Verlander, 2. Cease, 3. Manoah.

Framber Valdez should get some votes too. Also Ohtani.

Ohtani is still my preference for MVP but I guess it’s going to be Judge.

It's Judge. Not sure why anyone would prefer someone else.

I'm not the biggest fan of WAR as a stat, but it covers all facets of the game. And even if you add Ohtani's pitcher and hitter totals together, Judge wins.

FANGRAPHS:

Judge War: 11.4

Ohtani War: 9.4
Bat: 3.8
Arm: 5.6

B-REF:

Judge 10.6
Ohtani 9.6 (3.4 + 6.2)

You’re really not sure why?

It’s because Ohtani is an elite hitter and also one of the best SP in the game.

Judge definitely had the better offensive year.
