OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

an all-star outfielder with 30+ homer power and run producer for a 50ining bullpen arm? Sure, those 50inings were very good but, thats a steep price. This pitching prospect thrown into the deal better be good.

With the Jays removing so many outfielders from the roster, could only assume that we a one incoming via another trade or free agency.

Agreed that they bought as high on a RP as is possible.

Macko was borderline top-10 in a pretty weak farm system. Maybe he’ll become something but he’s a long shot.

Teoscar was a decent trade chip this off-season. So much for that.

Yup. Only way this makes sense is if they're spending on a CF to push Springer over to the corner.

Though it would be real nice if they would spend on the CF, push Springer to RF, Teo to LF and then trade Lourdes for relief help. But we would need to have an owner serious about winning to support that kind of budget.

Kiss playoffs goodbye. What a terrible freaking trade and reeks of cheap. I don’t expect anything but a Heaney, Strahm and maybe a Benintendi or Naquin with a Vladdy extension.

Team is going to come out much worse and less chemistry but hey, years of control, risk adverse yada yada

I don’t think Lourdes gets you RP help and he doesn’t clear nearly enough money but still I’d rather dump Lourdes for nothing and get the Teo comp pick.

If they sign Nimmo I get it though

That said i dont believe they will do the 5/110 to sign Nimmo. Im expecting a Danny Jansen for Dylan Carlson trade, and a FA SP signed, and that's our offseason.

I dont like this Teo deal, but he really had limited value to limited teams, bah, this has shatkins smart guy in the room vibes though. Seeing them operate without Rogers behind them is not fun

Closest you've ever come to criticizing Shatkins. Almost there!

I really dont love the move in a vaccum but im willing to see what "else" follows, despite my skepticism. A Nimmo signing, and C trade for a SP, makes this okay, if not good ( Nimmo is better than Teo, and we need his CF play alot)

I understand Teo, had limited niche value, and Lourdes had even less, and im not keen on extending either.

If anything im more upset at Rogers for not letting them spend to the luxury tax

You came in here saying you didn't know anything about baseball, and immediately fell for the Big Lie. Stay in your lane Gorddust!

That being said, this trade sucks.

I get that there aren't usually many teams lining up to trade for corner outfielders about to get paid, but this isn't much of a return unless they LOOOVE that prospect. Obviously signing a lefthanded bat like Nimmo would explain why they wanted to move Teo, but he was a central piece in the room and a valuable contributor on the field. I'd much rather trade Lourdes, he probably wouldn't bring back much of a return but this isn't much of one either.
