OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

You came in here saying you didn't know anything about baseball, and immediately fell for the Big Lie. Stay in your lane Gorddust!

That being said, this trade sucks.

I get that there aren't usually many teams lining up to trade for corner outfielders about to get paid, but this isn't much of a return unless they LOOOVE that prospect. Obviously signing a lefthanded bat like Nimmo would explain why they wanted to move Teo, but he was a central piece in the room and a valuable contributor on the field. I'd much rather trade Lourdes, he probably wouldn't bring back much of a return but this isn't much of one either.
3 years of control on a cheap RP with 11 K/9 and a great walk rate is not nothing. Lets be clear.

It just sucks that the team wasn't willing to pay one of those dudes, or better still fucking develop one, and let Teo mash in his walk year and leave, rather than pay for one in a trade.

Lourdes im certain had zero value

This remains true and my post does not contradict that! I was simply acknowledging that as a huge fan of this ongoing Shatkins war, I have never seen Jonas criticize Shatkins. Today, however, he came very close to doing so and I was simply typing letters on my keyboard to let him know that he was inches away from doing something that he has never done before.

Could also add one via trade. It is fairly obvious this team needs to add at least one impact LHB, which would support going after a guy like Nimmo.

I really dont love the move in a vaccum but im willing to see what "else" follows, despite my skepticism. A Nimmo signing, and C trade for a SP, makes this okay, if not good ( Nimmo is better than Teo, and we need his CF play alot)

I understand Teo, had limited niche value, and Lourdes had even less, and im not keen on extending either.

If anything im more upset at Rogers for not letting them spend to the luxury tax

Well, this is a bit of a horseshit take. They obviously have had enough conversations about FA and trade where they know what's available to them.

This Teo trade wasn't made in a vaccum

back to the usual shapkins lap dog, order in the universe has been restored. guess we pushed our luck hoping for an honest assessment. continue on.

I will say, it is cute that after all these years you still are so willing to give shapkins the benefit of the doubt and defer to their 'plan'.

it is clear to me that these guys have a pattern of operating that has been built up over enough years to have lost that benefit of the doubt, but I guess you disagree, which is also okay.
