wasn't Mattingly a not so successful manager not too long ago?
A poor man's Olerud?Don’t know anything about Mattingly as a coach.
As a player he was a poor man’s Olerud, but he’ll probably get into the HOF eventually because Yankees.
You should look at those numbers you just posted and have another think. For example, your hits number for Olerud is off by 1100. Then look at other more meaningful numbers including OBP.A poor man's Olerud?
Olerud played 449 more games in his career than Mattingly. That's almost 3 full seasons. And for all those extra games, Mattingly had more hits (2153 to 1139) only 33 fewer home runs (222 to 255) only 131 fewer RBI's (1099 to 1230) and had a .307 lifetime batting average compared to Olerud's .295.
If anything, Olerud was a poor man's Mattingly.
Hitting for average driving in runs are what the game is all about. If Player A is better in those areas than Player B then Player A is the superior player. I couldn't give a shit about some nerdy WAR number. Additionally, Olerud benefitted from playing on better teams for the most part than did Mattingly. You should look at those numbers you just posted and have another think. For reference, Olerud’s career WAR is 58.2. Mattingly 42.4.
Mattingly had a really great 4-year peak where he was one of the top 1B in the game. Olerud’s best year was better than Mattingly’s though. And Olerud’s best stretch actually came in his late 20s/early 30s, well after his best year in 1993. The fact you don’t know that sort of proves my point.
Mattingly was a Yankee with a good BA and lots of RBIs. Olerud was better in pretty much every other way.

no , need the Yanks to win the derbySome poor organization is going to sign Judge to a very poor contract. I think he goes to the Giants
no , need the Yanks to win the derby
His contract was always going to stink
If he bolts , Yanks will target 2-3 star types and be a better teamI do think that would be good. Although I do also kind of like the idea of him signing somewhere else, and the Yankees going crazy and signing lots of other worse players to fill out and try to pretend like they're going to be better than they would be with Judge.
This is nowhere near the Angels pissing away Trouts careerGot a feeling we are going to piss away the years of young bo/Vlad/ etc.
