OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Well I do think they should be fired after a decade. But I don't think they should be criticized for this in particular. This was encouraging and something the people here have all asked they do more often. Fuck your sweet spot of shared risk and go for it.

But yes, fire them 3 years ago, absolutely.

but i am very hopeful. and they'll deserve all the praise if it happens.

they won't be home free, but they'll look dangerously close to a first class organization if they land him.

In fact, getting used by Ohtani while letting all credible plan Bs go elsewhere would be yet another major gm fail.
Just because he did not choose us doesn't mean we were getting used.

I think were past the point of being used to bump up an offer for a division rival.

Yeah for sure, im only discussing this pursuit of Ohtani. Get him or not, they did everything right it seems, by all means fuck them for their past blunders.

Also if we miss, we dont have to worry about Mattingly turning him into a slap hitter, so there is that.

If the flight makes a U-turn over Detroit to land in Chicago then yeah I'll feel used. But if you look at everything, there was never a reason to not have the Jays in the top group going after him, other than "Toronto never does stuff like that."

If flight plan data cant get you hard enough may i suggest the world of hourly shifts on vegas odds. There is something for everyone.
Fanduel pulled the market. Which is likely a response to the "it's imminent" report. So no, there's nothing for me anymore. But at least I have you.

I guess the Giants, Cubs and Angels should fire their front offices too ( one of them should)
No those guys have been on the job for two and one year respectively. As for the Angels front office, they should have been fired after the losing streak post deadline. Not winning with Shohai and Trout and then keeping Shohai is unforgivable.

I have a mild moment of clarity so i'd like to point something out

The initial report from Passan was he was going to make his decision in 96 hours

Morosi comes out this morning after seeing flight plan shenanigans and says deal is imminent (oooh) possibly as early as today ( not what imminent means) and lists the Jays as a confirmed finalist ( literally means nothing)

Im not remotely convinced anything dramatically changed this morning.

Yeah I thought Morosi's tweet was to get something on the record pre signing so that he can tell he also had reports saying so just in case he does sign with the Jays. It'd be historic signing after all.

He's hedging, and while he's not the worst ( Heyman) he's the most rumor mongering vague language fucker in the business.

If the flight turns out to be accurate he looks genius, if not, he used the word possibly.

People get info faster than books can react to them these days. All it takes is one tweet out of nowhere and someone being quick enough to make the bet on the Jays or Dodgers on Fanduel and free money is made; granted they could void the bet but it's poor optics. I think they pulled it because they sense it's close.. Could be the Morosi tweet, because they pulled it literally right after it (I checked to see if it changed the lines).

I doubt they pulled it because of a tweet.

Unless a) they verified it wasnt bullshit with Morosi himself or b) they have good reason to believe Morosi actually has info here.
