OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Jebus what a bunch of snowflakes. None of this matters. He signs, he doesn't sign. It's not going to change your lives one iota. If you want to get stressed out about something get stressed about how the world seems to be devolving into fascism because that actually does potentially affect your life.

He might be making shit up about that reso but at least that guy is a real person with a non-sports career.

Love to see the backtracking. From "he'll never sign in Toronto" to "it doesn't even matter." Someone is scared.

If we sign ohtani I’m changing my name to Ross Shapiro and converting to Japanese
Im not going to make people uncomfortable around here anymore. ( by people i mean the folks i respect that i threaten to fuck against their will, not the WeHave's or RedLines of the world, fuck those fuckers)

Ill even exchange ceasefires with LOF.

I still don't think he will but I don't know him well enough to discern whether he's motivated more by money or by a desire to win. If he cares about winning there are several places he can go which are more of a sure thing than Toronto. Ohtani is a great ball player like Matthews is a great hockey player. But like 34 he's never won jack shit so assuming that an Ohtani signing equals a parade is setting yourself up for disappointment.

On the bright side, if the only way Rogers can afford him is to give up their broadcast rights to hockey then it's a win for the rest of us.

No no no no.

Totally disagree with this take. After a decade on the job they have not earned this.

Will earn it only if they get the signature. Pivoting to Chapman as Jonas stated would be a major failure and they should get a new GM.

Yeah, there is no runner-up prize in chasing unrestricted free agents.

If what happens is that Shatkins fails to land Ohtani and then go dumpster-diving for leftovers afterwards, that should garner them no credit or goodwill whatsoever. And it’s some really silly shit to suggest otherwise.

You make everything less enjoyable.

Does it have to be an either or proposition? It's not like every other free agent available other than Ohtani is shit.

It's a make or miss league
