OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

I feel like in some sense Jonas is Forum Ice’s baby, and we’ve seen him grow from a know nothing shit into a quality poster….and while it’s taken twenty years for him to graduate, he’s now doing the yeoman’s work of often bringing a smarter take to the table, as a retort to something, with some illuminating info to support it.

I love you too

There is talk Glasnow and Margot are going to the Dodgers for Ryan Pepiot and someone else. Not confirmed though

So Pepiot will be the new dude to murder the Jays

That’s sickening.

Jays need to be all over that….you get a healthy Glasnow you’re getting the next Gerrit Cole leaving Pitt. imo

Eh, does a healthy Glasnow exist?

Our version of Pepiot is probably Tiedemann. Unfortunatly our system is fairly dogshit, we dont really have any back tier top 100 guys to dangle, and if we do move Ricky i think it has to be for a bat, but i suspect he's a non starter.

I think whatever trade we make will be for one of those teams fucked by their cable provider going bankrupt.

I can really get behind Willy Adames for 1 year to play 3B and i like Max Kepler from the twins. Neither should cost a fuck ton, maybe names like Pearson or Barger.

To be clear ive still come around to the idea that these guys are shit, and i expect their priority this offseason to be, 2 years or less on deals ( trades as well) while trying to try to compete, but Joey Votto in 2023 because the casual fan will like it? I cant abide that kind of nonsense.

Im struggling to find a shit to give. Unless there is a player out there that truly moves the needle i suspect they add a handful of vets to firmly put them in the wild card range at best.

Whatever.
The last few pages prove that this is a load of shit. You're a liar, Jonas. You care. You care deeply. It's okay to say it.

With the Ohtani debacle you can expect a greater chance of Votto signing.

Gotta take your swings….gotta do your due diligence on the medicals…But you get it right and he’s a Cy Young winner for you.
Sure, but if Tiedemann is our Pepiot, then i think i rather dangle him+ for Dylan Cease, as he's controlled or Corbin Burnes, who is traditionally healthier.

God only knows what it costs to trade in division too.

Frankly, Cease, while taking on Eloy and Moncada money solves a fuck ton, controlled ace, masher DH, and 3B who might be bad, but has upside.

Yep, you’re right.

Glasnow makes my list tho if they can’t be gotten. Tiedemann as a prospect is honestly just as risky as Glasnow’s health….but if he’s healthy there’s few his equal.

In fact I may prefer him to Cease, but Burnes I prioritize for sure.

Kepler I assume is basically free to anyone if they will pay him, or like a depth prospect. Adames would cost something, but yeah I would guess more in the Barger range.

I'm sort of expecting we grab Kepler and Polanco, and then maybe if we give a good prospect they eat enough money that the team can still spend on something else. Or like we give them Manoah and they eat some money on those guys and toss in a random bullpen arm or something. Not exactly sexy, but might be a way to fill 2 spots for not too too much.

Oh i would deal Tiedemann, frankly if we dont win in this window i think were going to be exceptionally mid going forward, with or without Ricky being a thing or not.

I'd rather know we put forth our best efforts giving this a shot.

Frankly, depending on how broke Milwaukee is you might be able to get Burnes without Tiedemann, if Rogers is willing to swing it's financial dick around and say, take on the entire Yelich deal ( solves our LF issue) or do Rickey and take Adames and Yelich, ( solves 3B and LF)

Kikuchi for Kepler or Polanco has been floated, they are desperate for SP and probably cant sign anyone.

Polanco is weird, i like the player, but i dont think he can play 3B and i dont like our internal options (davis and biggio) there, but i do like the bat.
