OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Deferring it is ridiculous and has to stop. The luxury tax was supposed to go to other teams. This is making it a joke. No cap, ok, but at least get rid of this.

It's not really a big deal. He still counts as 46M on the Dodgers cap, and he wouldn't have signed a 10/700 deal without the deferments. Without the deferred payments he would have signed for probably around the 10/460 that his deal counts as on the Dodgers payroll. Maybe they save like 2M a year or something because of creative accounting, but it's not nearly the same as like the Luongo or Kovalchuk deals who were relying on a player retiring and avoiding cap hits.
