Move the franchise to Washington and put us out of our misery.
I swear it’s like they knew they were going to cheap out and do Jack squat or plug a hole and with all the bad publicity that’s why they threw an offer out at Ohtani, and I’m guessing they knew like 90% he was going to Dodgers or SF and they just did it to get the fanbase off their backs for a bit and to have an excuse like they really went for it with Ohtani and end up signing another bum for 3rd and DH
114 for a DH is shit, and unless he's here to be a 3B ( he isnt) its a cherry on top of a shit sundaeCan't say that I love it, and would prefer Martinez or Soler ... but Justin Turner just turned 39. 114 wRC+ last year, 126 & 124 the two years before. Hopefully he has another year left, but definitely pretty underwhelming. And KK/IKF fit just fine.
You have been vehemently anti-Turner all offseason, so this has to sting.114 for a DH is shit, and unless he's here to be a 3B ( he isnt) its a cherry on top of a shit sundae
I get Soler apprehension. So sign JDMYou have been vehemently anti-Turner all offseason, so this has to sting.
I like it a lot more than Soler. Soler was better last year (126 wrc+) but way worse the previous three seasons (95, 100, 107.) And he still might get 4 yrs. Dodging a bullet there, IMO.
105 and 107 are both shit, and downgrades from Belt, i dunno guess they are fucked no matter what. I know i still have more faith in raw power out of JD. Maybe they should have actually tried to improve the offense in LF or 3B?I mean JD Mart had a 135 wRC+ last year, but 119 the year before. Is that shit? Both guys were equal at 126 in 2021. And he'll turn 37 halfway through the season, so he's not exactly young either.
Turner's a good dude who has always hit. Father Time is undefeated, but he may still have a year or two left.
For what it's worth, Zips has Turner at 115 and JD at 106 this year. Steamer 105 for Turner and 107 for JD.
