OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

If Horowitz can’t outcompete Vogelbach, he probably doesn’t deserve a spot. Horowitz still has options as well, no?

I like this kind of depth signing, from the dregs left over near spring training. Escobar, too, as long as it isn’t a guaranteed deal for any kind of money. Much prefer this to multi-year deals for guys like IKF that aren’t any more likely to contribute.

Vogelbach still rakes RHP.

He makes sense as a guy to put in at DH when Turner is at 3B or 2B ( this shouldnt be much)

More importantly, he should be the reason IKF or Espinal never see a PA vs a RHP late in a game, unless John Schneider is a moron.

I will say, with Vogelbach, Turner and Kirk in house, this might be the worst baserunning team in MLB, with no discernable pinch runner on the roster

Didn’t we already try this guy?

Also bring back Derek Fischer and Billy Mcmann or whatever that guys was.

he's a two sport athlete at least.

I for one look forward to the 7th inning tied game with 2 outs where John Schneider lets IKF face a RHRP and we get the camera pan to Vogelbach who should be pinch hitting, but fuck face doesn't want to lose the glove

If Vogelbach is used properly and we limit late game PA's vs RHP to Espinal and IKF, this is a fine 26th man.

Also, i dont fucking understand how Eduardo Escobar is minor league deal, and IKF is 2/15.

I know EE was terrible last year, and cant defend well, but he's 2 years removed from being a damn useful stick and somewhat versatile so that contract situation makes some sense, but IKF is an awful bat with a really good glove. Not a huge gap.

I will probably never let the IKF thing go, or the KK thing really. Why is Varsho in LF again....seriously

2 seasons ago i saw a man in a Jays Vogelbach jersey which he must have purchased within the 5 day span he was here.

As an avid MLB jersey collector who puts a fair amount of thought into who should be put on the back of his jerseys i think about this man alot. How confident he was DV was going to be good, and here long term, and put serious money on those thoughts. Did he have basically immediate regret? did he still wear that jersey? Does he have hundreds of Jays jerseys where this is just a drop in the bucket? How is he doing now? I'd be anxious about 2 things. Is Vogelbach making the team and is he getting the same number he got the first time ( probably not). Wild stuff. Anyways, this is what i do now, think about these things and watch Wild Hogs. Probably one more breakdown away from calling it quits and living at the bottom of the most nearby lake or Pond.

Hopefully Mill Pond thaws by then.

Yes im aware of the time.

No, you fuck off.

Yeah, like I can forgive a lot of stuff, but it just feels weird to like spent 18m on IKF and KK, when we could have just picked up a waiver wire LF and spent the money on Chapman or someone at 3b

I think it’s tough to find a number and term that is fair for Danny. He’s legit good. But he misses time every year. I think you have to get a deal done though. Can’t let him walk after trading away your top catching prospect last year.

Unless you believe Kirk is starter quality. He himself will likely have durability issues.

Stupid management. The move was clearly to keep Moreno and move Jansen or Kirk. Morons.
