OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Imo the whole idea of this kind of tech is to be able to access different info while going about your normal life.

That there doesn't look any better - at all - than watching a game on a big screen with a laptop or phone open to MLB Gameday. Except that there's no way to do or see anything else.

It seems like that actually de-hances the experience of watching a game.

They've gotta be working on VR for sports you can be immersed at field/ice level right? Like, strap a 360 camera to the refs helmet and I'm on the ice wherever he is, but I've got the ability to look 360 degrees wherever I want. That would be awesome...or better yet strap it to some players.

Is that a thing or will it soon be a thing, nerds?

I’m not really even intrigued by the current headgear. I wouldn’t care to even try it.

When they’re able to make them as sunglasses, where I could watch a game as if it was on tv while I was out somewhere, instead of looking at my phone, that would interest me.

I'm all for this kind of tech but...i don't see what's so great about that?
I wouldn't say amazing, but watching the game and having access to lineups, stats and seeing where the pitches land in real time is pretty cool. also obviously looking at a video of VR doesn't do justice to how much better it looks to the wearer.

I know there was talk a few years ago about virtual concerts and sporting events, where you could watch them in 3-D as if you were there. There are some VR vids out there where you're watching a band perform a song from the side of the stage. So I'm sure these things exist but probably not the greatest viewing experience quite yet, there is a lot of "fatigue" involved wearing these headsets for long periods of time.

It's coming, though.

Amed Rosario 1/1.5
IKF 2/15

You cant seriously tell me this FO hasn't bumblefucked their way through this offseason. Rosario might not be a great defender, but he can at least hold his own vs LHP and represents some form of an upside play.

I would think if you're looking for a plus defense utility infielder who can also play CF, it would be kind of fucking stupid to sign a guy who is bad at defense

Also, 2023:

Amed: 88 wRC+
IKF: 82 wRC+

Yeah it looks like they may have, once again, misread the market and overpaid instead of waiting it out.

On the other hand, while 2/15 is a very bad deal for a no-bat utility IF, it’s not that much for a starting 3B!

bottom 5 starting 3B in MLB shouldnt cost much

Yeah, I was kidding about him being their starting 3B. I think they signed IKF as an overpriced utility IF/contingency plan to a Bichette trade and then bungled their way into him having a spot in the starting 9.

But gameday on your phone or laptop already does this.

And they could fit all that on your tv screen anyways.
