i'm not the one crying every day about signing a utility infielder, that is my point. An overpay sure, but this is a ludicrous overreaction.

Its what the overpay represents, and you keep calling him a UTIL when he's clearly their starting 3B. Your faith in Biggio/AAA/Turner is really misguided there.

A poor evaluation of talent and even worse reading of the market.

And when you factor in they clearly had a budget and many holes, err yeah, 7.5 x 2 for a meh utilty INF who's going to get 450 PA playing 3B is fucking terrible, so is Green for 10.

Of all the "good" injuries for a SP, hamstring is upthere.

So according to Arden Zwelling the Jays looked to move Espinal, but couldnt find a taker. Which, sure, i can buy, in a world where Tim Anderson has to take 1/5, but like, why is he still on the roster then? he represents a glut of MI and causes Biggio/Schneider/IKF to cosplay as a shit OF4, when we could in theory dip into the Duval/Pham/Grossman FA pool.

I mean you keep him around until the last minute in cade of injury if nobody will take him. But yeah, basically they signed IKF as an updated Espinal, assuming they could dump him. But misread, and have no takers.

Still feels like you should lock in the OF you want now, and worry about the roster spot later.

They are going to tell you they like Schnieder ( who should be near everyday INF), Biggio ( a trash OF) and IKF ( lets keep making the stick worse) as OF$ options, but they all suck or are stupid for varying reasons. Just pay Duval/Pham or even Grossman ( who still hits LHP well enough)
