You would think that this super utility no bat guy they massively overpaid that used to catch could fill in as a backup C for 2 weeks so the team doesnt need to lose Clement or Vogelbach by adding Brian Serven to the 40 man

Wes Parsons would be my pick to DFA at this point. Although if Clement doesn’t make the team they’ll probably lose him on waivers anyway, so problem solved.

Yeah thats fine, DFA whatever a Wes Parsons is, but i dont particularly want Serven cracking the opening day roster.

Clement should make it over Espinal, and Vogelbach should make it over Serven.

I dont know if you can sneaky Clement or Vogelbach in AAA for two weeks until Jansen gets back, if you can, fine, im overreacting, but if not, let this overpaid bum do something useful.

I mean... I can't even believe I need to ask this, but... You are aware that there are ZERO teams in the history of Major League Baseball who would go with 1 catcher for multiple weeks, right?

An emergency guy is just that. In case of a fucking EMERGENCY.

Hmm well. If one of your C is Danny Jansen, you should probably have 3 catchers on its 40-man anyway. They have 22 pitchers, including flotsam like Parsons. So that move was coming at some point anyway. They can wait until the end of spring training when they know if Clement made it through waivers. Vogelbach doesn’t have a spot on the 40-man so they’d already have to cut someone else to get him in.

The main roster issue is that between Clement, Espinal, Biggio, Jimenez, and Schneider they already had 3-5 IKFs in house before they signed IKF, who might be the worst player in the group. And yeah, none of them can catch.
