What about Atlanta since 2018?

The new GM will be this guy:

Eh, you could probably do worse, as long as he has full say and Shapiro is put out to pasture or designated food an beverages chairman or some such.

Click and his team did analytics correctly in his time in Houston, and if Rogers committed to the same payroll i think he could do a good job.

Also, I don't think they will fire Schneider, I think they will shit-can all the hitting coaches first (with Mattingly) and give Schneider another year.

Schneider is a good company man.

Also, with Acuna being done for the season, offer Atlanta Kiermaier for free, maybe?

He's fucking tragic here and at minimum it opens up some PA for a Lukes or whoever in AAA if you insist on seeing what that guy is, even Horwitz, if you are cool with him in LF, fuck, you could DFA Vogelpoo or Biggio and call up both and have enough PA to justify it.

The new GM will be this guy:

That would be great. Click has a real baseball pedigree from places like Houston and Tampa that have actually had success. They need someone with GM experience who isn’t going to listen to Shapiro at all.

If Shapiro’s next GM hire is another ex-Cleveland type weenie with no experience, it’s just going to be a repeat of the last 9 years (except ownership will probably get tired of throwing a quarter billion at the payroll every year.)

Nowhere near as bad as some have stated here, skyline looks nice but the rest of it is underwhelming. This being the "Blue" Jays, they probably should have started with a different but cool shade of blue, don't love black jerseys in general. Probably somewhere in the middle of the City Connects.

So, what i said.

as far as I can tell the Jays coaches consist of:

3 Managers:
  1. J.Schneider, Manager
  2. D.Hale, Associate Manager
  3. D.Mattingly, Bench Manager & Offensive Co-ordinator
3 Hitting Coaches (tho mattingly as offensive co-ordinator i guess is a hittig coach too?):
  1. G.Martinez, Hitting
  2. H.Mense, Assistant
  3. M.Hague, Hitting Strategy
3 Pitching Coaches:
  1. P.Walker, Pitching
  2. J.Ware, Bullpen
  3. D.Howell, Pitching Strategy
1 Brain Coach:
  1. J.Lannan, Mental Performance
and the 1B/3B coaches.

The only guys to come on new since Schneider became manager are Demarlo Hale, who was our bench coach for many years before leaving a few year ago, J.Ware, who was a minor league coach for us, and M.Hague, who came from outside the org.

Oh and the Jays have had 2 different Mental coaches the past 2yrs and i'm not sure they had any before that and I don't know if Schneider is involved in that.

Jays win. Bassit and Pearson both looked good. They’re 4-4 so far in this buttersoft 10-game stretch (6 CWS, 4 DET). Keeping hope alive!

And because you don’t have to be very good to stay in the race anymore, they’re only 5 back of the last wildcard. Although with 6 teams to pass to get there.

Nightmare scenario is that they’re 3-5 back but still with a negative run differential at the end of June and Atkins is allowed to sell prospects to try to save his job. The only bright side is that there aren’t many good prospects to sell.

Obviously the Jays hitting hasn't been good enough this season, at all, and would need to improve immediately for them to have any chance this year. But just pointing out a little context, hitting stats are actually at a 10-year low around the league. Pitching has been dominant so far this year.

Jays are actually 18/30 in team OPS (.690). Ahead of Mets, Mariners, Cardinals, Cubs, Rays.
14/30 in OBP at .312.
29/30 in BABIP (the "luck" stat) at .270.
