OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

We know Vladdy has huge power so for me the low SLG and ISO right now are not that big a deal. Overall he is hitting really well. I’d be more concerned if he had a low OBP and high K rate right now.

eh, RBI is a function of people being on base for him, them being good baserunners, etc. Says more about the offence around him if he's rocking higher than a 136 wRC+ in the middle of the order but with low RBI.

Kirk is not doing "bad", his defence is "S" tier, if he was an average bat he would be solidly above 1 fWAR. As it is he accumulated 0.8 fWAR in 30 games, to put that in perspective, Moreno in 43 games is at 0.9 fWAR.

HR/RBI are way too low for a star caliber player

Homers have nothing to do with the offence around him

RBIs are a team stat. Here is a thought experiment for you: Player A has 50 HRs but with no one on base. Player B has 25 HRs but comes up with bases loaded on each HR. Who would have more RBIs?

Here is an experiment

Your star player goes to the plate and has 5 HR`s in 211 at bats and is on pace for 15 HRS , not even close to expectations

Vlad /Bo have simply havent produced enough , I dont care what WRC + or other metric you follow

Schneider making 750k is doing better , thats embarrassing
 
Vlad's hitting the way I want him to hit. The weird power outage despite the hard hit numbers is frustrating, but this is the way he's gotta hit - walks are back, swinging at awful pitches is way down. I'm pleased.
 
Still not sure Vlad is the guy to pay mega bucks to. Was expecting Miggy level output. Hasn’t come close to those expectations. Lofty as they may be even for the best prospect at the time.

This team is ass. Shatkins really fucked this up.
 
At least with the Leafs, you still have the young and performing core to just keep building around.

The Jays' young core is the defective thing now, which means that if it holds up, this team is trash and needs to be blown up.
 
Hitting, especially power hitting, is contagious. If you were a MLB pitcher, why would you ever challenge Guerrero with Bichette-Turner-Varsho hitting behind him? If he works a count in his favour, fuck it, walk him and take your chances.
